South Hardin shut out in season finale

ELDORA — The South Hardin football team suffered its eighth-straight loss to end the season, falling 35-0 to Roland-Story in Friday’s Class 2A District 3 contest.

The Tigers (1-8, 0-6), who have a Week 9 bye after rearranging their schedule to accommodate for Collins-Maxwell/Baxter’s absence in the district, defeated Iowa Falls-Alden in their season-opener.

Friday’s season finale was the second consecutive shutout loss for South Hardin, which was blanked three times this fall. The Tigers made four turnovers and totaled just 117 yards of offense.

Owen Fuller led South Hardin with 31 rushing yards and quarterback Kolten Rewoldt had 27 more. Logan Spindler caught three passes for 30 yards.

Rewoldt led the defense with 10.5 total tackles.

Roland-Story (4-4, 3-2) was led by Ben Chelsvig, who ran 17 times for 176 yards and a touchdown. Tyler Risdal finished 10-for-15 passing for 121 yards and two TDs, both to Austin Hobbs.
