Tigers woodshed Presentation College 111-63

Everything went right on Thursday night for the Marshalltown Community College men’s basketball team, as the Tigers bounced back from their first loss of the season on Tuesday in a big way, taking down Presentation College 111-63.

It was both the best offensive and defensive output of the season for MCC (3-1), and coach Brynjar Brynjarsson said he was happy that he was able to empty out his bench during the win.

“It was good to see all of our players be able to get on the court and perform well,” he said after the win. “Every player went in with a purpose and everyone played hard tonight.”

No player had more of a purpose than Mohamed Thiam, as the sophomore from Senegal led the game in points and rebounds with 17 and 11 respectively. Eduardo Lane also had 14 points and Bassirou Ndiaye recorded nine points and nine boards.

Marshalltown native Tony Smith got the crowd going at the Student Activity Center as well, chipping in 11 points and four rebounds coming off the bench.

The Tigers next take on Little Priest Tribal College on Saturday, starting at 7 p.m. on the MCC campus.
