Bulldog women drub Iowa Wesleyan, 102-25

DES MOINES — Eight players scored at least nine points each as the Drake women’s basketball team blasted Iowa Wesleyan 102-25 in the Bulldogs’ annual Pack the Knapp for Character game Tuesday at the Knapp Center.

With more than 4,000 Des Moines and area elementary and middle school students in attendance, the Bulldogs took Iowa Wesleyan to school with a 37-3 first-quarter advantage. Drake (5-4) eased its way to a 55-11 halftime lead and cruised to victory over the winless Tigers (0-8).

Becca Hittner and Hannah Fuller had 18 points apiece to lead Drake. Brenni Rose finished with 13 points and nine rebounds, while Kate Van Scyoc added 11 points off the bench.

Drake ramps back up on Saturday, hosting Nebraska for a 2 p.m. contest at the Knapp Center. The Bulldog men entertain Nebraska-Omaha at 5 p.m.
