Kluver earns 2 Hawkeye team awards

Tyler Kluver

IOWA CITY — University of Iowa senior long-snapper Tyler Kluver was the recipient of two team awards, which were presented on Sunday at the Hawkeye football team’s annual awards banquet.

Kluver, a 2013 Marshalltown High School graduate, was presented with one of three Reggie Roby Special Teams Awards and one of five Coaches Appreciation Awards.

Kluver, who redshirted after walking on for his freshman season with the Hawkeyes, handled all deep snaps over the last four years.

His one moment in the spotlight was an 18-yard reception on a fake field goal during Iowa’s 55-24 win over No. 5 Ohio State on Nov. 4 at Kinnick Stadium. Kluver came up one yard short of the end zone on his only career catch heading into the Hawkeyes’ trip to the Pinstripe Bowl, which will be played Dec. 27 at Yankee Stadium in New York City.
