Kramer’s perfect game lifts Bobcats
The Marshalltown boys bowling team earned its fourth victory of the season on Thursday with a 3,365-2,471 win over Newton.
Lucas Kramer was the hot hand for the Bobcats, rolling the first perfect game of the season for MHS in his second individual game, right after recording a 265 in his first game.
Kramer’s set score of 565 is the highest for any Bobcat this season, and the combined score of 3,365 was the highest team total of the year.
Ray Wiegand was the second-best Bobcat with a 482, followed by Kamrin Chizek’s 470 and Jonathan McKeever’s 461. McKeever hit a season high with both his set score and his high game score of 248.
The Bobcat girls also took a win on Thursday, defeating the Cardinals 2,481-2,194.
That team total was a season high for the MHS girls, while Haley Bell, ShayeLyn Pickett, Emily Diggins and Ashly Wiegand all rolled season highs for their series.
Bell led the way for a second-straight meet with her 353, just one pin ahead of Pickett’s 352. Diggins was third with a 335, while Ali Olinger and Karlie Potter also hit the 300s in their series with a 316 and 304 respectively.
The Bobcat bowlers next hit the lanes on Tuesday when they host Des Moines Roosevelt at 3:34 p.m. at Wayward Social.
