SPORTS SHORTS: Cyclone women add to hoops roster
AMES — The Iowa State women’s basketball program announced Thursday the addition of Lauren Mills, an Australia native, to the team roster.
Mills is a 6-foot-2 forward/center who has competed on developmental teams in her native Australia, representing Tasmania in the U14-U18 Basketball Championships.
“We are excited to add Lauren to the Cyclone women’s basketball family,” said ISU head coach Bill Fennelly. “Getting Lauren here now allows her to get acclimated in all areas of Division I basketball and how we do things at Iowa State. Adding inside depth is always important at this level and we feel Lauren has a great upside.”
Mills is immediately eligible but is expected to redshirt for the remainder of the 2017-18 season.
