UNI’s Kirkpatrick named MVC Player of the Week

CEDAR FALLS — After scoring a career-high 24 points off the bench to lead the Northern Iowa women’s basketball team past Kansas State, senior Kennedy Kirkpatrick was named the Missouri Valley Conference Player of the Week, the league announced Tuesday.

The honor is the first in Kirkpatrick’s career.

Kirkpatrick made a career-high seven 3-pointers against Kansas State, one shy of tying the school record for most in a single game, and scored the go-ahead bucket with 2:11 remaining.

Kirkpatrick leads UNI in scoring with 12.7 points per game, and she’s scored in double figures seven times.
