MHS boys bowling remains unbeaten

ANKENY — The Marshalltown boys bowling team continued to knock down all comers with a win over Ankeny on Thursday, its 13th-straight win in a row.

The Bobcats (13-0) beat the Hawks 3,208-2,658 on the day, with Jonathan McKeever rolling a season-high game of 278 and leading the way with his series of 479. Ray Wiegand came next with a 441, followed by Joshua Arment’s 439, Richie Thomas’ 432, Kamrin Chizek’s 401 and Lucas Kramer’s 385.

Thomas also hit his season-high game with a 262.

The MHS girls weren’t able to end their recent losing skid, as they fell to Ankeny 2,564-2,345. Despite the loss, the Bobcat girls (5-6) rolled their best Baker games of the year with an 844 in the five-game series.

Karlie Potter led the team with her series of 322, followed by Ashly Wiegand with a 316, Ali Olinger with a 302, ShayeLyn Pickett with a 299, Haley Bell with a 262 and Kylee Witt with a 248.
