Thank you to everyone for food donations
On Oct. 22, area Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts of the TAMAHA District participated in the 26th annual Scouting For Food Community Service project. More than 6,000 items of food were collected and given to the local food pantries in the Central Iowa area.
I want to extend my sincere thanks to all the Scouts and their adult leaders for taking the time out of their weekend to help with this worthwhile cause. Also a big thank you to all of the residents who donated food to help feed those less fortunate. Your donations do make a difference in the lives of those who are having a tough time making ends meet.
A special thank you to all of the people who work and support Scouting For Food “behind the scenes” each year. Thank you to Ric Anderson and our local Hy-Vee for supplying the post-it-note reminder stickers and specially marked grocery cart, radio stations KDAO and KFJB, KXIA, and KCRM for their support and the Penny Saver and Times-Republican for ad space to help promote this project and Leroy and Roseann Jero and all the other volunteers from the Emergency Food Box. Without all your help and support we would not be able to have the success that we do year after year.
Thank you everyone!
