The GMG Wolverine volleyball squad swept Hubbard-Radcliffe 15-7, 15-8 and 16-14 as Jeri Hartwig hit 14-of-15 serves for seven aces, Kris Ruff hit 13-0f-14 serves with three aces and Carrie Boldt hit all her 11 serves for two aces.

The West Marshall softball team scored six runs in the first inning and eight runs in the second to destroy Gilbert 14-1 as Dianne Rohrer led the Trojanettes smacking three base hits and driving in four runs.

West Marshall’s Drake Ferch did a little bit of everything and West Marshall pickup up its biggest win of the season defeating No. 6 CMB 34-21 as Ferch rushed for 182 yards on 27 carries for three touchdowns and caught a pass for another.

Mary Langenbau’s 14 kills helped power the GMG volleyball team past Grundy Center 15-10, 15-10, 7-15 and 15-10 as teammates Kris Ruff and Deb Michels each fed the frontline with 10 sets-for-ace spikes.

MHS swim team members voted Cathy Whitehill “Swimmer of the Week” as she took second in the 200 yard freestyle, first in the 100 yard breaststroke and swam a brilliant final leg of the 400 yard freestyle relay to help team win 102-69 over Mason City.
