Marshalltown Community College volleyball christened its new home, MCC Student Activities Center, with a rout of Iowa Central of 25-21, 25-1 and 25-23 as Freshman Librero Emily Smid was 12-for-12 with four aces and a team high 25 digs.

The MHS girls swim 200-yard medley relay team of Kathy Ryden, Deb Wuest, Cindy Whitehill and Leslie Lytle set a new school record as did the 400-yard relay team of Whitehill, Ryden, Wuest and Rae Darter in the losing effort at Des Moines Lincoln.
