Dunham — 100th

Marshalltown resident Dorothy Dunham will be celebrating her 100th birthday Aug. 3. Friends are invited to join her at First Presbyterian Church, 101 S. Center St., from 3 to 5 p.m., to honor her milestone.

An open house will also be held Saturday noon, Aug. 2, at Crestview Apartments, 202 N. 2nd Avenue.

Born Aug. 3, 1914 near State Center, Dorothy Turner graduated from Marshalltown High School. She taught school in the late 1930s and 1940s, mostly in Le Grand. She married Everett Dunham in 1943. They lived in Cedar Falls and raised a family. Dorothy taught in the Waterloo school system in the 1960s and 1970s. They retired to Cherokee Village, Ark. Dorothy returned to Marshalltown in 1995.

Friends and family are invited to bring photos, memories and smiles to help Dorothy celebrate.
