The TOPS State Recognition Days were held May 19 and 20 in Cedar Rapids. Kathy W. of the local TOPS 1440 Chapter was honored as the Runner-up State Queen for her weight loss and reaching KOPS status and maintaining that. She received a sash and flowers and was honored on stage during the event. Five of her fellow chapter members attend SRD to support her.

At the local Awards day held April 27 by TOPS 1440, many members received recognition for weight loss, attendance and participation in club activities. Judy G. was recognized as the Chapter’s “Best of the Best” for 2016. She received a very nice etched glass trophy award.

Activities for 2017 for the chapter have included a food drive for the Food Pantry, a Style Show provided by Christopher & Banks using members as models, a healthy walk activity, fun contests to promote weight loss. Other events are being planned for the rest of 2017.

A new member, Julie G., was recently welcomed to the group.

Election of officers will be held July 6 with new officers being installed in early August.
