The Marshalltown Elks Lodge gave a $1,000 scholarship to Jacob Christen. He’s going to University of Northern Iowa in the fall for accounting and finance. He was a school based mentor at elementary school for Big Brothers Big Sisters. He was team captain on the Marshalltown High School tennis team this past spring and he has also volunteered through the MVP program at MHS as well as the Interact club. Sherri Vesely, Elks scholarship chairman, along with David Furr, Exalted Ruler, presented Christen with this scholarship. The Elks Riders along with DJ Beau Allen and DJ Laid Back (having donated time) raised the money during a fundraising event.
