Bernie and Melanie Johnston are announcing the engagement and approaching wedding of their daughter Tahler Jean Johnston to Kyle Thomas Wildman, son of Tracy and Lori Wildman.

Tahler and Kyle were born and raised in Marshalltown and attended Marshalltown High School where they became high school sweethearts.

After high school, Tahler played volleyball at Indian Hills Community College and went on to play for Missouri Western State University where she graduated with her Bachelor’s Degree in business management. Tahler is currently employed as a human resource generalist at TPI Composites in Newton.

Kyle is a May 2015 graduate of Iowa State University in mechanical engineering.

Tahler is the granddaughter of Robert and Camelia Mowrey and of the late Palmer and Mary Johnston. Kyle is the grandson of Tommy and Evelyn Thompson and of the late Braden and Dolores Wildman.

The couple plans to be married at First Baptist Church on Sept. 5 in Marshalltown.
