Jim and Marilyn Downs, of Marshalltown, announce the engagement of their daughter, Leslie Downs, to Eli Hargrave, son of Michael and Laurie Hargrave, of Marshalltown. Grandparents are Howard and Eleanor Stegmann, Jerry and Donna Downs and Dennis and Diane Matney.

Leslie is a graduate of Marshalltown High School, received her Computer Application in Business diploma from MCC and currently works as Marshall County Judicial Specialist II for the State of Iowa. Eli is a graduate of Central Iowa Christian Academy, and currently works as a concrete foreman for Boulder Contracting.

The couple is planning a Jan. 23 family wedding and reception at the First Baptist Church in Marshalltown.
