UPH – Marshalltown to offer Hematology and Oncology services

UnityPoint Health – Marshalltown will begin offering Hematology and Oncology services on the second and fourth Wednesday’s beginning March 14. UnityPoint Health – Marshalltown Hematology/Oncology is located in the Multi-Specialty department on the third floor of the clinic building at 405 E. Main St., Marshalltown.

Dr. Bilal Rahim will be providing Hematology and Oncology services to the community. Rahim completed medical school at St. George’s University School of Medicine, residency at the University of Connecticut and completed a fellowship at The University of Wisconsin. He is also board certified through the American Board of Internal Medicine.

Daggs-Olson selected as BVU Global Fellow

STORM LAKE — Jordyn Daggs-Olson, a sophomore strategic public relations major from Eldora, has been selected for Buena Vista University’s 2019 Global Fellows Program.

The Global Fellows Program aims to open substantive dialogue on issues of sustainability and geopolitics from a global perspective. Global Fellows are selected based on faculty recommendation letters and globalization-themed essay responses during their first year at BVU.

During January Interim of their second year, the Global Fellows participate in a fully-funded, academically-oriented, interdisciplinary international experience. During their junior and senior years, Global Fellows give back to the University as global ambassadors with a Scholar’s Day presentation and as student mentors for the first-year program.

Those who are selected participate in community projects and classwork specific to the program, including for-credit classes that complement their fully-funded international travel experience.

Lennox International honored with Above and Beyond Award

Lennox International has received a Patriotic Employer Award from military employee, Jessica Bear, in 2017. Officials said that due to the exemplary support Lennox has provided Bear in her military career Iowa Committee for Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve, they are presenting Lennox with an Above and Beyond Award at the Annual Employer Award Banquet.

The Above and Beyond Award honors employers of Reserve Component members who go above and beyond the requirements of the Uniformed Services Employment and Reemployment Rights Act.

Lennox International, represented by Barry Niederklopfer, along with other Iowa employers will be honored at a luncheon on April 28 at the Hilton Garden Inn, Johnston.
