Murphy-Stokes appointed vice president of nursing

Lori Murphy-Stokes has been appointed vice president of nursing with UnityPoint Health – Marshalltown. Murphy-Stokes was most recently the executive director of Patient Care Services at UnityPoint Health – Allen Hospital in Waterloo.

Murphy-Stokes has 23 years of direct patient nursing experience and 10 years of nursing leadership which includes experience in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, Clinical Nurse Specialist, director of Maternal-Child Services and Clinical Informatics and lastly executive director of Patient Care Services at Allen Hospital.

Murphy-Stokes began her healthcare career in 1979 and received her BSN from the University of Iowa. She completed her Master of Arts degree in Nursing Administration and a Post-Masters’ certificate as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner.
