A Marshalltown man has been arrested following a report of a domestic abuse incident in which he allegedly choked another person.

Capt. Chris Jones of the Marshalltown Police Department said officers arrested Jeremy Ian Roberts, 33, late Friday night at an apartment in the 400 block of North 1st Avenue, after a reported argument between him and another person escalated and Roberts is said to have choked the victim.

The victim did not seek medical treatment, Jones noted, but officers did charge Roberts with domestic abuse assault impeding flow of air/blood (strangulation).

He was transported to the Marshall County Jail where he later posted bond.
