Tuesday

• Wyatt Kane Slinker made an initial appearance on an assault causing serious bodily injury charge. The public defender’s office is appointed as counsel. The preliminary hearing is scheduled at 1 p.m. on April 28. Bond is set at $5,000 cash or surety. The court ordered Slinker to be photographed and fingerprinted in connection with this case. A no-contact order has been issued for the protected party.

• Crystal Lynn Perez, of Garwin, made an initial appearance on a burglary-second degree charge and a providing false identification information charge. The public defender’s office is appointed as counsel. The preliminary hearing is scheduled at 1 p.m. on April 28. Bond is set at $10,000 cash or surety.

• Arniobis Pineda Perez made an initial appearance through a Spanish interpreter on a violation of a no-contact order/contempt of court charge. Christian Stickrod is appointed as counsel. A contempt hearing will be scheduled by the Magistrate Court. Pineda Perez is released on his promise to appear. If he owns or possesses any firearms or ammunition, Pineda Perez is to contact the Marshall County Sheriff’s Office within 24 hours to make arrangements to surrender them. A new no-contact order has been issued for the protected party.

• Timothy John Bullard, of Tama, made an initial appearance on a theft-fifth degree charge and a forgery charge. The public defender’s office is appointed as counsel. The preliminary hearing is scheduled at 1 p.m. on May 8. Bullard was released on his promise to appear.

• Lenni Clemons made an initial appearance on a possession of cannabidiol charge. The public defender’s office is appointed as counsel. The preliminary hearing is scheduled at 1 p.m. on May 8. Clemons is released on her promise to appear. A substance abuse evaluation is ordered with the results submitted within 60 days.

• Seton Kelly Smith, of Toledo, made an initial appearance on a theft-third degree-enhanced charge and a trespass charge. The public defender’s office is appointed as counsel. The preliminary hearing is scheduled at 1 p.m. on May 8. Smith is released on his promise to appear.

• Juan Gerardo Hernandez made an initial appearance on a public intoxication charge. He pleaded not guilty to this charge. Breanna Nelson is appointed as counsel. The pre-trial conference is scheduled at 9 a.m. on May 17 in Magistrate Court. Hernandez is released on his promise to appear.

• Alyssa Ralston, of Des Moines, made an initial appearance on a theft-fifth degree charge. Ralston pleaded guilty and the fine is $65 with a $22.75 surcharge, a $125 law enforcement initiative surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $272.75, due within 30 days.

Wednesday

• Bradley Wayne Sparrow waived his appearance on a burglary-third degree charge. The judge assigned the public defender’s office as counsel and set the preliminary hearing for 1 p.m. on April 28. Bond is set at $5,000.

• Brendan Scott Quigley made an initial appearance on a warrant charging him with possession of drug paraphernalia and on a failure to obey a stop sign charge, a no valid driver’s license charge and a no insurance-accident charge. Quigley pleaded guilty to the drug paraphernalia charge, the driver’s license charge and the no insurance charge. The fine on the paraphernalia charge is $65 with a $22.75 surcharge, a $10 DARE surcharge, a $125 law enforcement initiative surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $282.75 plus the service of warrant fee. The license fine is $200 with a $70 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $330. The fine on the insurance charge is $500 with a $175 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $735. All payments are due within 30 days.

Quigley pleaded not guilty to the failure to obey a stop sign charge. He will represent himself before the court. A pre-trial conference is scheduled at 9 a.m. on May 17 in Magistrate Court. Quigley was released on his promise to appear.

• Man Do Innmae made an initial appearance on a sex offender registry violation charge. The public defender’s office is appointed as counsel. The preliminary hearing is scheduled at 1 p.m. on April 28. Bond is set at $2,000 cash or surety.

• Scott W. Slocum made an initial appearance on a burning of garbage prohibited violation. He pleaded guilty and the fine is $65 with a $22.75 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $147.75, due within 30 days.

• Arniobis Pineda Perez made an initial appearance on a improper use of lanes charge, a unsafe passing charge, a speeding charge and a drag racing charge. Pineda Perez pleaded guilty to all charges. On the improper use of lanes and the unsafe passing the fine is $100 with a $35 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $195, each. The speeding fine is $90 with a $31.50 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $181.50. The fine on the drag racing is $65 with a $22.75 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $147.75. All payments are due within 30 days.

• Arahi Valdivia Barreto made an initial appearance on a drag racing charge and a speeding charge. A pre-trial conference is scheduled at 9 a.m. on May 31 in Magistrate Court.

• Gary Allen Prazak made an initial appearance on three counts of a theft-fifth degree charge. A pre-trial conference is scheduled at 9 a.m. on May 31 in Magistrate Court.

• James Richard Speas made an initial appearance on a failure to stop in an assured, clear distance charge. Speas pleaded guilty and the fine is $65 with a $22.75 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $147.75, due within 30 days.

Marshalltown Police Department

Accidents

• On April 13, a car driven by Christian Wan, of Marshalltown, was eastbound on West Boone Street when it collided with the rear of a car driven by Jessica Lynn Garcia, of Marshalltown, which had failed to clear the intersection with South Ninth Street. No injuries were reported. Wan was cited for no valid driver’s license. Damage to the Wan car was estimated at $5,000 while the Garcia car received an estimated $2,000 in damage.

• On April 13, a car driven by Liliana Hernandez, of Marshalltown, was westbound on State Street when it collided with the rear of a minivan driven by Yolonda Arlene Rowley, of Marshalltown, sending it spinning around until it struck a legally parked Chevy Trailblazer. A passenger in the Hernandez car was transported to Central Iowa Healthcare with leg pain. Damage to the Hernandez car was estimated at $2,000 while the Rowley minivan and the Trailblazer each received an estimated $5,000 in damage.

• On April 11, a vehicle driven by Lauren Deanne Bolar, of State Center, was northbound at the intersection with West Merle Hibbs Boulevard just west of the Applebees parking lot when it proceeded forward and collided with the passenger rear quarter panel of a car driven by Timothy Dale Borton, of Haverhill. No injuries were reported. Bolar was cited for failure to obey a stop sign and yield the right of way. Damage to both vehicles was estimated at $800 each.

• On April 2, a vehicle driven by Leandra Larae Haughey, of Union, was southbound on Highland Acres Road at the intersection with West Lincoln Way when it proceeded forward and collided with a vehicle driven by Andrew Douglas Warywoda, of Des Moines. No injuries were reported. Haughey was cited for failure to obey a stop sign and yield the right of way. Damage to both vehicles was estimated at $5,000 each.

• On March 29, a vehicle driven by James Russell Wood, of Eldora, was northbound on South Center Street near the entrance to Hy-Vee when it attempted to merge into the inside lane and collided with a car driven by Frank Dennis Davenport, of Marshalltown. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Davenport car was estimated at $1,300 while the Wood vehicle received an estimated $1,400 in damage.

• On March 24, a car driven by Gerald William Koscielski, of Marshalltown, was exiting Central Iowa Healthcare Emergency Care parking lot onto West Church Street when it failed to yield to oncoming traffic resulting in a collision with a vehicle driven by Cing Khawm Niang, of Marshalltown, which was traveling west on Church Street. No injuries were reported. Koscielski was cited for failure to yield upon entering a through highway. Damage to the Niang vehicle was estimated at $1,600 while the Koscielski car received an estimated $150 in damage.

• On Monday, Arniobis Pineda Perez was arrested for contempt of court/violation of a no-contact order.

• On Monday, Cecilia Ann Howe was arrested on a warrant.

• On Monday, Crystal Lynn Perez was arrested for harassment of a public official and on a warrant.

• On Monday, Seton Kelly Smith was arrested for trespass.

• On Monday, Sean Eric Turnbull was arrested for trespass.

• On Monday, Juan Gerardo Hernandez was arrested for public intoxication.

• On Monday, Bradley Wayne Sparrow was arrested for burglary-third degree.
