• Douglas Barger Ainsley made an initial appearance on a child stealing charge and a enhanced public intoxication charge. The public defender’s office is appointed as counsel. The preliminary hearing is scheduled at 1 p.m. on Sept. 22. Bond is $10,000 cash only. A substance abuse evaluation is ordered with the results submitted to the court within 60 days of release. A no-contact order has been issued for the protected party.

• Aaron David Williamson, of Iowa Falls, made an initial appearance on a forgery charge and a theft, fifth degree charge. The public defender’s office is appointed as counsel. The preliminary hearing is scheduled at 1 p.m. on Oct. 2. Williamson is released on his promise to appear.

• Kayti Shaffer, of State Center, made an initial appearance on two counts of a child endangerment charge and a possession of marijuana charge. Chad Frese will be hired as counsel. The preliminary hearing is scheduled at 1 p.m. on Sept. 29. Shaffer is released on her promise to appear. A no-contact order has been issued for the protected parties.

• Trisha S. Hansen made an initial appearance on a probation violation charge. Aaron Vaughn will be hired as counsel. The probation revocation hearing will be scheduled by the District Associate Court. Hansen is released on her promise to appear.
