• Shalee Rae Southard made an initial appearance on a possession of marijuana charge. The public defender’s office is appointed as counsel. The preliminary hearing is scheduled at 1 p.m. on Jan. 31. A substance abuse evaluation is ordered with the results submitted to the court within 60 days. Southard is released on her promise to appear.

• Tayren Reese Rockingham made an initial appearance on a possession of marijuana charge and a possession of drug paraphernalia charge. The public defender’s office is appointed as counsel. The preliminary hearing is scheduled at 1 p.m. on Jan. 31. A substance abuse evaluation is ordered with the results submitted to the court within 60 days. Rockingham is released on his promise to appear.

• Miguel Angel Rico made an initial appearance on a pretrial release violation charge, a failure to appear for trial charge and a probation violation charge. The public defender’s office is appointed as counsel. The pre-trail conference, trial and probation revocation hearing will be scheduled by the District Associate Court. Bond is set at $4,000 cash only for all charges.

• Chris Lynn Lippincott made an initial appearance on a probation violation charge. The public defender’s office is appointed as counsel. The probation revocation hearing will be scheduled by the District Associate Court. Bond is set at $5,000 cash or surety.

Arrests

• On Wednesday, Miguel Angel Rico, 24, was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia and on three warrants.

• On Wednesday, Javier Corona, 30, was arrested for possession of a controlled substance-methamphetamine-first offense, driving while barred and a felon in control of a firearm.

• On Wednesday, Austin Bair, 23, was arrested for interference with official acts, possession of a controlled substance-second offense and possession of drug paraphernalia.

• On Wednesday, Natrisha Banks, 31, was arrested on a warrant and for providing false identification information and open container.

• On Wednesday, Glenn Sedlacek, 68, was arrested on a warrant from another county.

• On Wednesday, Christina Gray, 30, was arrested for driving under suspension.

• On Wednesday, Carlos Solorio Nava, 21, was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia.

• On Wednesday,Tayren Rockingham, 20, was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of marijuana-first offense.

Arrests

• On Wednesday, Allen Carmer, 35, was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia and driving under suspension.

• On Wednesday, Chris Lippincott, 55, was arrested for violation of probation.

Grundy County Sheriff

Arrests

• On Wednesday, Dec. 27, Charles Williams, 44, of Hiawatha, was arrested by Linn County authorities on a Grundy County warrant charging him with two counts of lascivious acts with a child. Williams posted bond and was released.

• On Thursday, Dec. 28, Todd Ites, 29, of Newton, was arrested at Grundy County Memorial Hospital on a Hardin County warrant charging him with probation violation. Ites was released to the Hardin County authorities.

• On Monday, Jan. 1, Pudoli Mendoza-Gonzalez, 28, of Marshalltown, was arrested at Highway 20 and 14 and charged with driving while license is barred and driving while revoked. Mendoza-Gonzalez posted bond and was released.• On Wednesday, Jan. 3, Allan Tucker, 40, of Waterloo, was arrested in Wellsburg and charged with driving while license is barred and three counts of driving under suspension. Tucker is being held in lieu of bond.

• On Saturday, Jan. 6, Michael Trampel, 66, of Cedar Falls, was arrested on Highway 14 and 120th Street and charged with operating while intoxicated-first offense. Trampel was released on his promise to appear.

• On Sunday, Jan. 7, Adam O’Clair, 33 of Conrad, was arrested at the Sheriff’s Office on a Grundy County warrant charging him with failure to appear. O’Clair is being held in lieu of bond.

Accidents

• On Sunday, Jan. 7, a car driven by Lavern Whitney, 84, of Grundy Center, was eastbound on Highway 175 at the intersection with T-47 when the driver attempted a U-turn at the intersection with the intent of going back west and pulled into the path of a vehicle driven by Myrl Kosanke, 67, of Grundy Center, resulting in a collision. No injuries were reported. Whitney was cited for failure to obey a stop sign and yield the right of way. Damage to the Whitney car was estimated at $4,000 while the Kosanke vehicle received an estimated $2,000 in damage.
