Wednesday

• Chelsea Lynette Ruiz made an initial appearance on a child endangerment charge and a domestic abuse assault-simple charge. The public defender’s office is appointed as counsel. The preliminary hearing is scheduled at 1 p.m. on June 5. Ruiz was released on her promise to appear. The court ordered that Ruiz make contact with her attorney and provide an alternate address to the Clerk of Court within 24 hours of release. A no-contact order has been issued for the protected party.

• Alex Martinez made an initial appearance on a driving while revoked charge. Martinez will hire Chad Frese as counsel. The preliminary hearing is scheduled at 1 p.m. on June 5.

Thursday

• Lane William Winders made an initial appearance on a reckless use of fire or explosive charge, a possession of drug paraphernalia charge, a criminal mischief-fifth degree charge and a theft-fifth degree charge. The public defender’s office is appointed as counsel. The preliminary hearing is scheduled at 1 p.m. on June 6. Winders is released on his promise to appear.

• Aaron Dolash made an initial appearance on a theft-third degree charge. The public defender’s office is appointed as counsel. The preliminary hearing is scheduled at 1 p.m. on May 25. Bond is set at $2,000 cash or surety.

• Michelle Foote made an initial appearance on a probation violation charge. The public defender’s office is appointed as counsel. The probation revocation hearing is set at 3 p.m. on June 1. Bond is set at $5,000 cash or surety.

• Crystal Cardona made an initial appearance on a probation violation charge. The public defender’s office is appointed as counsel. The probation revocation hearing is scheduled at 10 a.m. on June 4. Bond is set at $10,000 cash only.

• Andres Ramirez made an initial appearance on a driving while barred charge, a driving under suspension charge, an operating while intoxicated charge, a providing false identification information charge, a possession of drug paraphernalia charge and a improper use of lanes charge. The preliminary hearing is scheduled at 1 p.m. on May 25. Bond is set at $2,000 cash or surety.

• Tyler Monroe Bendlage made an initial appearance on a reckless use of a firearm charge, a carrying weapons charge, an operation without interlock device charge, a driving under suspension charge and a driving under suspension-failure to have SR-22 insurance charge. The preliminary hearing is scheduled at 1 p.m. on May 25. Bond is set at $2,000 cash or surety.

• Emmanuel Efrain Rivera made an initial appearance on a pre-trial release violation. Pre-trial release is revoked and a bond of $1,000 cash or surety is in place.

Accidents

• On Tuesday, a car driven by Elizabeth Ann Weatherly, 51, of Marshalltown, was attempting to exit a parking spot in the 100 block of West State Street when the trottle stuck while backing up and she struck the front end of a legally parked Chevy. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Chevy was estimated at $2,000 while the Weatherly car received an estimated $3,500 in damage.

• On Wednesday, a vehicle driven by Peggy Sue Taylor, 55, of Marshalltown, was parked and unattended when it slipped out of gear and rolled into the rear of a legally parked minivan. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Taylor vehicle was estimated at $500 while the legally parked minivan received an estimated at $2,000.

• On Wednesday a theft was reported in the 500 block of West Nevada Street.

• On Wednesday, Aaron Dolash, 36, was arrested for theft-third degree-enhanced.

• On Wednesday, Crystal Cardona, 30, was arrested on a warrant.

• On Thursday, Andrea Ramirez Moreno, 32, was arrested for providing false identification information, possession of drug paraphernalia, improper use of lanes, driving while barred and driving while license is denied, cancelled, revoked or suspended.

• On Wednesday, Tyler Monroe Bendlage, 27, was arrested for operating without interlock device, driving under suspension, driving under suspension, reckless use of firearm with property damage and carrying weapons.

• On Wednesday, Michelle Lynn Foote, 40, was arrested on a warrant.

• On Wednesday, Bruce Wayne Gordon, 52, was arrested on a warrant.
