• Scott Elliott Peppel made an initial appearance on a domestic abuse assault-first offense charge. Jeffrey Hazen is appointed as counsel. A pre-trial conference is scheduled at 9:30 a.m. on June 13 in Magistrate Court. Peppel was released on his promise to appear. A no-contact order has been issued for the protected party.

• Brennan Cole Johnson made an initial appearance on a domestic abuse assault charge. Johnson will hire his own counsel. A pre-trial conference is scheduled at 9:30 a.m. on June 13 in Magistrate Court. Johnson was released with supervision through the Department of Correctional Services and is to report by end of work today and sign a pre-trial release agreement. A no-contact order has been issued for the protected party.

• Bonnie Louise Barton made an initial appearance on a domestic abuse assault-first offense charge. The public defender’s office is appointed as counsel. A preliminary hearing is scheduled at 1 p.m. on May 31. Barton was released on her promise to appear. A no-contact order has been issued for the protected party.

• Juana Guevara Pena made an initial appearance on a theft-third degree charge and an identity theft charge. The public defender’s office is appointed as counsel. The preliminary hearing is scheduled at 1 p.m. on May 31. Guevarra Pena was released on her promise to appear.

• Veddy Osakanu Onukum made an initial appearance through a French interpreter on a failure to yield upon a left turn charge. Osakanu Onukum pleaded not guilty and a pre-trial conference is scheduled at 9:30 a.m. on June 6 in Magistrate Court.

Incidents

• On Thursday a case of misappropriated property-theft-fifth degree was reported in the 300 block of Melody Lane.

• On Thursday a hit and run accident-property damage only was reported in the 1000 block of West Lincoln Way.

• On Thursday an accident with two injuries was reported in the 900 block of Iowa Avenue.

• On Thursday a theft was reported in the 200 block of South Fourth Street.

Arrests

• On Friday Ivan Rodriguez Jimenez, 26, was arrested on a warrant from another county.

• On Thursday Mark Judge, 32, was arrested for contempt of court/violation of a no-contact order.

• On Thursday Bonnie Barton, 30, was arrested for domestic abuse assault-first offense.

• On Thursday Heather Wallace, 32, was arrested for burglary, second degree.

• The Marshalltown Fire Department responded to a dispatched/cancelled en route to 1005 W. Lincoln Way, an unauthorized burning at 2100 Vermillion Lane, and nine medical assists with the EMS crew to: 122 W. Main St., 407 N. 15th St., 209 Thomas Drive, 109 Byron St., 604 Roberts Terrace, 1 W. Grant St., 2012 Skyline Drive, 3303 S. Center St., and 311 S. Second St.

May 5

• The Marshalltown Fire Department responded to a dispatched/cancelled en route to 2907 S. Sixth St., a gas leak at 504 W. Church St., three unauthorized burnings at: 6 Highland Acres Road, 307 N. Seventh St., and 232 N. 13th St., no incident found at 2200 Vermillion Lane, and six medical assists with the EMS crew to: 202 N. Second Ave., 201 E. Main St., 602 Iowa Ave. West, 309 W. Merle Hibbs Blvd., 711 Marion St., and 307 N. Seventh St.

May 4

• The Marshalltown Fire Department responded to a motor vehicle accident with injuries at North Third Avenue and Marion Street and five medical assists with the EMS crew to: 1506 Laurel Drive, 609 S. Seventh Ave., 1506 Laurel Drive, 2 N. Second Ave., and 808 W. Nevada St.

May 3

• The Marshalltown Fire Department responded to two dispatched/cancelled en routes to 18 N. Second Ave., and 5 Lackey Terrace, a no incident found at 102 Iowa Ave. West, and three medical assists with the EMS crew to: 301 Pleasantview Road, 402 N. 10th Ave., and 208 1/2 N. Third Ave.

May 2

• The Marshalltown Fire Department responded to a dispatched/cancelled en route to 508 1/2 E. Main St., and eight medical assists with the EMS crew to: 520 N Second St., 1301 Summit St., 803 Summit St., 1008 E. State St., 207 N. 14th St., 313 S. 14th Ave., 533 N. Third St., and 104 W. Meadow Lane.

May 1

• The Marshalltown Fire Department responded to a passenger vehicle fire at 305 N. Second Ave., a smoke detector activation-no fire-unintentional at 2 N. Second Ave., an unauthorized burning at 814 N. Fifth Ave., a gas leak at 2020 Catalina Place, and three medical assists with the EMS crew to: 409 N. First Ave., 1 W. Grant St., 206 Nicholas Drive, and 1101 Woodbury St.

April 30

• The Marshalltown Fire Department responded to a natural grass fire at Second Street and West Main Street and four medical assists with the EMS crew to: 1211 W. State St., 206 Nicholas Drive, 203 S. Third St., and 403 Union St.

April 29

• The Marshalltown Fire Department responded to two unauthorized burnings at 208 1/2 S. Fourth St., and 104 N. Fourth St., a police matter at 305 Melody Lane, and a medical assist with the EMS crew to 403 E. Southridge Road.

April 28

• The Marshalltown Fire Department responded to a smoke or odor removal at 511 E. Church St., a grass fire at 402 N. 10th Ave., two unauthorized burnings at 1013 E. South St., and 509 W. Linn St., and two medical assists with the EMS crew to 1 W. Grant St., and 409 N. First Ave.
