Arrests

• On Tuesday, Freeman Ohrt, 25, was arrested for no proof of vaccination.

• On Tuesday, James Baskin, 57, was arrested for public intoxication-first offense.

• On Tuesday, Patrick Bracy, 30, was arrested for domestic abuse assault-impeding the flow of air or blood, child endangerment-no injury and burglary-first degree.

• On Tuesday, Christopher Arment, 21, was arrested for failure to maintain control, no insurance and operating while under the influence-first offense.

• On Wednesday, Cassie Eastwood, 31, was arrested for disorderly conduct.

• On Wednesday, Nathan Lucas, 28, was arrested for driving while barred-habitual offender.

Accidents

• On Aug. 22, a vehicle driven by Alejandra Alcocer Rangel, 30, of Marshalltown, was westbound on West Olive Street when it went through the red light at the intersection with South Sixth Street and collided with a pickup driven by Kevin Robert Jensen, 63, of Marshalltown. No injuries were reported. Alcocer Rangel was cited for failure to obey a traffic control device and no valid driver’s license. Damage to the Alcocer Rangel vehicle was estimated at $1,200 while the Jensen pickup received an estimated $800 in damage.

• On Aug. 23, a car driven by a 16-year-old was in the Marshalltown High School parking lot when it collided with a vehicle driven by a 16-year-old female that was still parked . No injuries were reported. Damage to the vehicle was estimated at $100 while the car received an estimated $3,000 in damage.

• On Aug. 28, hit and run damage to a Chevrolet Sonic was reported in the 500 block of North Center Street. Following an inspection, the damage was estimated at $2,000.

• On Aug. 29, a car driven by Ryan Wesley Hunt, 34, of Marshalltown, was leaving Legends parking lot when it collided with a legally parked pickup. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Hunt car was estimated at $2,500 while he pickup received an estimated $5,000 in damage.

• On Aug. 30, a car driven by Ku Mo, 23, of Des Moines, was exiting a parking spot on South 11th Street when it collided with a pickup driven by Melchor Avalos-Rodriguez, 39, which was driving south down 11th Street. No injuries were reported. Mo was cited for unsafe starting of a stopped vehicle. Damage to the Mo car was estimated at $4,000 while the Avalos-Rodriguez pickup received an estimated $1,000 in damage.• On Tuesday, Sept. 4, a car driven by Rual Hleih Cung, 25, of Marshalltown, was southbound on South Third Avenue when the driver lost control and collided with the rear of a vehicle driven by Van Biak Tha Par, 22, of Marshalltown, which was stopped at a red light. No injuries were reported. Cung was cited for failure to maintain control. Damage to the Cung car was estimated at $2,000 while the Par vehicle received an estimated $500 in damage.

• On Saturday, a vehicle driven by Dennis John Stalzer, 62, of Marshalltown, was turning from South Ninth Street onto West Madison Street when it struck a 14-year-old male pedestrian. The pedestrian was transported to UnityPoint Health-Marshalltown.

• On Sunday, vehicle driven by Heidi Marie Niedermann, 41, of Marshalltown, was southbound on South 12th Street at the intersection with Iowa Avenue West when it attempted a left turn and collided with a car driven by David Lee Blom, 20, of Marshalltown, which was traveling west on Iowa Avenue. No injuries were reported. Niedermann was cited for failure to obey a stop sign and yield the right of way. Damage to both vehicles was estimated at $3,000 each.

• On Sunday, a pickup driven by Roger Edwin Brown, 42, of Marshalltown, was eastbound on West Church Street when it went through the stop sign at the intersection with South Ninth Street and collided with a pickup driven by Lucas Tyler McCracken, 34, of Hubbard, which was traveling south on Ninth Street. No injuries were reported. Brown was cited for failure to obey a stop sign and yield the right of way. Damage to the Brown pickup was estimated at $4,000 while the McCracken pickup received an estimated $3,500 in damage.

• On Monday, a pickup driven by Larry Dean Viles, 74, of Marshalltown, was westbound on East Anson Street approaching the crosswalk at South Fourth Avenue when a 2-year-old female ran through the crosswalk unattended and was struck as the pickup attempted to stop. A passenger in the pickup removed the child from underneath. The child was transported to UnityPoint Health-Marshalltown for examination. Damage to the Viles pickup was estimated at $50.
