Tuesday

• Seton John Vest, of Toledo, made an initial appearance on a probation violation charge. The probation revocation hearing will be scheduled by the District Associate Court. Vest is released on his promise to appear.

• Ryan Heath Chaplin made an initial appearance on a theft-third degree-enhanced charge. The public defender’s office is appointed as counsel. The preliminary hearing is scheduled at 1 p.m. on Oct. 26. Bond is set at $2,000 cash or surety.

• Lendle Blelai made an initial appearance on an obstruction of emergency communications charge, a child endangerment charge and a domestic abuse assault charge. The preliminary hearing is scheduled at 1 p.m. on Nov. 5. Blelai was released on his promise to appear. A no-contact order has been issued for the protected party.

• Dean Paul Grout made an initial appearance on a warrant requesting the revocation of pre-trial release. Pre-trial release was revoked and a bond of $2,000 cash or surety was applied.

• Tricia Linn Cartee made an initial appearance on a theft-third degree charge. The public defender’s office is appointed as counsel. The preliminary hearing is scheduled at 1 p.m. on Nov. 5. Bond will continue as posted until the conclusion of this case.

Incidents

• On Monday, a theft from and damage to a motor vehicle was reported in the 300 block of North Third Street.

• On Monday,a case of vandalism to a motor vehicle was reported in the 200 block of Glenda Drive.

• On Monday, two leaving the scene of an accident-injury cases were reported in the 900 block of West Main Street.

• On Monday, a burglary of a motor vehicle was reported in the 1900 block of Edgebrook Drive.

Arrests

• On Monday, Ryan Chaplin, 38, was arrested for theft-third degree-enhanced.

• On Monday, Terry Scherr, 68, was arrested for assault.

• On Monday, Ashley Martinez, 29, was arrested for animal ordinance violation.

• On Monday, Lendle Blelai, 31, was arrested for obstruction of emergency communications, domestic abuse assault and child endangerment/no injury.

• On Monday, Dean Grout, 53, was arrested on a warrant.

Accidents

• On Friday, a car driven by Sandra Jo Krough, 50, of Gilman, was westbound on Nicholas Drive exiting the mall driveway when it entered South Center Street on a red light and collided with a pickup driven by Kelvin Ray House, 54, of Marshalltown, which was northbound on South Center. No injuries were reported. Krough was cited for failure to obey a traffic control device. Damage to both vehicles was estimated at $3,000 each.

• On Saturday, a pickup driven by Shonya Marie Hoskins, 45, of Le Grand, was westbound on East Main Street when it collided with the rear of a car driven by Alma Cecili Hernandez Vazquez, 26, of Marshalltown, sending it into the rear of a car driven by Robert Steven Hazen, 33, of Marshalltown, both stopped for a red light. No injuries were reported. Hoskins was cited for failure to maintain control. Damage to all three vehicles was estimated at $500 each.

• On Saturday, a car driven by a 17-year-old female was southbound on South Center Street when it collided with the rear of a vehicle driven by Nancy Jo Vanwyk, 65, of Marshalltown, stopped for a red light. No injuries were reported. The juvenile was cited for failure to maintain control. Damage to the the car was estimated at $2,000 while the Vanwyk vehicle received an estimated $1,200 in damage.

• On Sunday, a minivan driven by Manuel Saldana-Herrera, 35, of Marshalltown, was turning southbound from an alleyway onto North First Street when it collided with a vehicle driven by Mackenzie Lee Rogers, 26, of Marshalltown. Both drivers vision was partially blocked by a parked truck. No injuries were reported. Rogers was cited for no insurance-accident and driving under suspension. Damage to to the Rogers vehicle was estimated at $1,000 while the Saldana-Herrera minivan received an estimated $1,500 in damage.

• On Monday, a vehicle driven by Kaycee Leah Cole, 34, of Marshalltown, was stopped at the stop sign at Fourth Street when Cole proceeded into the intersection to make a left turn and collided with a car driven by Cristina Mancillaz, 44, of Marshalltown, which was westbound on Olive Street. No injuries were reported. Cole was cited for failure to obey a stop sign and yield the right of way. Damage to both vehicles was estimated at $3,000 each.

• On Monday, a car driven by Yuri Sanchez, 29, of Marshalltown, was backing out of his driveway at an apartment complex when it collided with a car driven by a 15-year-old female that was coming around a curve. No injuries were reported. Sanchez was cited for no insurance-accident. Damage to the Sanchez car was estimated at $800 while the juvenile’s car received an estimated $1,000 in damage.

• On Oct. 8, a theft was reported in the 100 block of Cruet St., in St. Anthony.

Arrests

• On Friday, Christina Doe, 28, was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia.

• On Saturday, William Burns, 70, was arrested for no valid driver’s license, driving while barred, driving while license is denied or revoked, circumventing an interlock device, driving under suspension and no insurance-accident.

• On Saturday,Brian Demesa, 27, was arrested for theft-fourth degree, theft-third degree and burglary-third degree.

• On Saturday, Nicholas Weatherly, 32, was arrested for driving while barred.

• On Sunday, Lilea Flower Moore, 18, was arrested on a warrant.

• On Monday, Doug Beadle, 53, was arrested for harassment-third degree.

• On Monday, Nathan Perkins, 46, was arrested for violation of parole.

• On Monday, Lilea Moore, 18, was arrested for malicious prosecution and false information for citation.
