• Christopher John Clark made an initial appearance on a parole violation charge, a possession of methamphetamine with the intent to deliver charge and a failure to affix a drug tax stamp charge. The public defender’s office is appointed as counsel on the drug charges. The preliminary hearing is scheduled at 1 p.m. on Oct. 29. Bond is set at $25,000 cash only. Upon release, Clark will have 60 days to obtain a substance abuse evaluation and submit the results to the court.

Tyler Heeren is appointed as counsel on the parole violation. The parole revocation hearing will be scheduled by an administrative court judge and the parole board. Clark is being held without bond.

• Enrique Lemus Jr. made an initial appearance on a trespass-second offense charge. Lemus pleaded guilty and the fine is $500 with a $175 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $735, due within 30 days.

• Brandon Patrick Murphy, of Strongville, Ohio, made an initial appearance on a public intoxication charge. Murphy pleaded guilty and the fine is $65 with a $22.75 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $147.75, due within 30 days.

• Austin James Smith, of Cedar Rapids, made an initial appearance on a public intoxication charge. Smith pleaded guilty and the fine is $65 with a $22.75 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $147.75, due within 30 days.

• Vincent Dewayne Ankton made an initial appearance on a failure to appear for trial charge. Aron Vaughn will continue as counsel. The trial is rescheduled for 9:30 a.m. on Nov. 16 in Magistrate Court. Ankton was released on his promise to appear.

• Kenneth Michael Corwin made an initial appearance on a dogs at large charge and a no vaccination violation charge. Corwin pleaded not guilty and a pre-trial conference is scheduled at 9:30 a.m. on Nov. 28 in Magistrate Court.

• Ranae Lea Osgood made an initial appearance on a leaving the scene of an accident charge and a driving under suspension charge. Osgood pleaded not guilty and a pre-trial conference is scheduled at 9:30 a.m. on Nov. 28 in Magistrate Court.

• Shana Nicole Lula Arp made an initial appearance on a failure to use a seat belt-minor charge, no insurance charge and a driving under suspension charge. Arp pleaded not guilty and a pre-trial conference is scheduled at 9:30 a.m. on Dec. 5 in Magistrate Court.

• Vanessa Corine Collins made an initial appearance on a no insurance charge and a driving under suspension charge. Collins pleaded not guilty and a pre-trial conference is scheduled at 9:30 a.m. on Dec. 5 in Magistrate Court.

• Erin Lynn Robinson made an initial appearance on a driving under suspension charge. Robinson presented proof of a license and the charged was downgraded to an expired license charge to which she pleaded guilty. The fine is $50 with a $17.50 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $127.50, due within 30 days.

• Selena Marie Lopez made an initial appearance on a striking fixtures charge, a leaving the scene of an accident charge and a driving under suspension charge. Lopez pleaded not guilty and a pre-trial conference is scheduled at 9:30 a.m. on Nov. 28 in Magistrate Court.

• Cassandra Kochuyt made an initial appearance on a failure to appear for an arraignment hearing. Christian Stickrod will continue as counsel. The pre-trial conference is scheduled at 1:30 p.m. on Jan. 11, 2019. Bond will continue as posted until the conclusion of this case.

• Becky Jo Lapour made an initial appearance on a no valid driver’s license charge, a no insurance charge and two counts of a driving under suspension charge. Lapour pleaded not guilty and a pre-trial conference is scheduled at 9:30 a.m. on Nov. 28 in Magistrate Court.

• Glen Edward Menter made an initial appearance on a false reporting of an indictable offense charge. The public defender’s office is appointed as counsel. The preliminary hearing is scheduled at 1 p.m. on Nov. 7.

• Heather Rose Myers made an initial appearance on a theft-third degree-enhanced charge. The public defender’s office is appointed as counsel. The preliminary hearing is scheduled at 1 p.m. on Nov. 7.

• Lino Rivera Reyes made an initial appearance on a failure to stop in the assured, clear distance charge. Rivera Reyes pleaded guilty and the fine is $65 with a $22.75 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $147.75, due within 30 days.

Accidents

• On Friday, a car driven by Justin Scott Zitzow, 21, of Marshalltown, was exiting a driveway when into an east/west alleyway when his foot hit the gas too hard as he was trying to retrieve a bottle underneath the accelerator resulting in the car hitting a neighbors garage. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Zitzow car was estimated at $1,000 while the garage received an estimated at $3,000 in damage.

• On Thursday, a dump truck westbound on West Olive Street pulled along side a car driven by Erin Louise Bro, 60, of Marshalltown, and turned north sideswiping the Bro car and left the scene. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Bro car was estimated at $2,000.

• On Tuesday, a car driven by Shaylee Kaye Senethavysouk, 18, of Marshalltown, was in the Mall parking lot stopped at the stop sign nearest Kaye’s Jewelers when a non-contact driver motioned the car forward and as it proceeded it collided with a pickup driven by James Ira Lamb, 68, of Marshalltown. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Lamb pickup was estimated at $3,000 while the Senethavysouk car received an estimated $6,000 in damage.

• On Tuesday, a car driven by Jordan Hunter Dolash, 22, of Union, was southbound on South Third Avenue when the driver dropped his cell phone and reached down to retrieve it resulting in Dolash running a red light and colliding with a car driven by Rebecca Lynn Elizabeth Gilgen, 25, of Marshalltown. No injuries were reported. Damage to both vehicles was estimated at $2,000 each.

Arrests

• On Thursday, Christopher Clark, 43, was arrested for failure to affix a drug tax stamp, controlled substance violation and a parole violation.

Accidents

• On Saturday, a pickup driven by Jasen Matheu Hernandez, 20, of Melbourne, was southbound on Reed Avenue when it struck a deer that entered the roadway. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Hernandez pickup was estimated at $1,500.
