Court — Monday

• Jean Bigomokero Burhama made an initial appearance on a trespass charge. Burhama pleaded not guilty and a pre-trial conference is scheduled at 9:30a.m. on Feb. 27 in Magistrate Court.

• Ysidro Mella made an initial appearance on a operation of a non-registered vehicle charge. The assistant county attorney present dropped the charge with court costs of $60 assessed when proof of registration was produced.

• Byron Ray Langland made an initial appearance on a theft-third degree charge. The public defender’s office is appointed as counsel. The preliminary hearing is scheduled at 1 p.m. on Feb. 15. Langland is released on his promise to appear.

• Joy Lynn Hamilton made an initial appearance on a harassment-third degree charge. Christian Stickrod is appointed as counsel. Hamilton pleaded not guilty and a pre-trial conference is scheduled at 9:30 a.m. on March 6 in Magistrate Court. A no-contact order has been issued for the protected parties.

• Rodrigo Morales failed to appear for an initial appearance on a failure to obey a stop sign and yield the right of way charge. The court found Morales guilty and he was fined $100 with a $35 surcharge, a $5 county enforcement initiative surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $200, due in 30 days.

Incidents

• On Friday, a theft from a motor vehicle was reported in the 2900 block of South Center Street.

• On Saturday, two burglaries were reported in the 100 block of Crestview Drive.

• On Saturday, a hit and run accident was reported in the 2400 block of South Third Avenue.

• On Sunday, a burglary was reported in the 200 block of West Linn Street.

• On Sunday, a burglary was reported in the 400 block of East Boone Street.

• On Sunday, a theft was reported in the 500 block of Iowa Avenue West.

• On Sunday, a case of vandalism to property was reported to the Marshalltown Police Station.

Citations

• On Saturday, Alexander Michael Wayne Anderson, 22, was cited for no valid driver’s license.

Arrests

• On Friday, Nicholas Glenn, 31, was arrested for theft-third degree shoplifting.

• On Friday, Michael Reeves, 39, was arrested for driving while barred-habitual offender.

• On Friday, Ivan Cordova, 18, was arrested for social host ordinance violation, possession of alcohol under the legal age limit-first offense, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of marijuana-second offense.

• On Saturday, Jaiden Vanlaw, 18, was arrested for possession of alcohol under the legal age limit.

• On Saturday, Cheryl Wagner, 62, was arrested for driving under suspension and on a warrant.

• On Saturday, Jan. 26, Angel Arroyo Davila, 19, was arrested for possession of marijuana-first offense.

• On Saturday, Kendra Savage, 23, was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia.

• On Sunday, J Harka Subba, 31, was arrested on a warrant.

• On Monday, Andrew Hilleman, 27, was arrested for driving while barred.

• On Monday, Jean Julien Burhama, 29, was arrested for trespass.

Accidents

• On Thursday, a semi driven by Duane Dean Fry, 69, of Wyoming, Mich., was attempting to back into a parking spot in the BP Travel Plaza when it struck the sleeper and rear fender of another semi. No injuries were reported. Damage to the parked semi was estimated at $4,000 while the Fry semi received an estimated $250 in damage.

• On Saturday, a car driven by Cheryl Ann Wagner,62, of Marshalltown, was eastbound on Merle Hibbs Boulevard when the driver lost control and the car spun out. Wagner started to back up to turn around and collided with a car driven by Jose Alfredo Jimenez Govea, 38, of Marshalltown. No injuries were reported. Wagner was cited for failure to maintain control and driving under suspension. Damage to the Wagner car was estimated at $100 while the Jimenez Govea car received an estimated $1,500 in damage.

• On Saturday, a car driven by Gary Alan Grieves, 54, of Wellsburg, was northbound on Third Avenue when it attempted to stop for a red light and continued sliding into the intersection where it collided with a vehicle driven by Jacqueline Lea Miller, 53, of Marshalltown. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Grieves car was estimated at $1,500 while the Miller vehicle received an estimated $2,500 in damage.

• On Saturday, a vehicle driven by Apryl Mae Gibson, 40, of Marshalltown, was southbound on 12th Street approaching the intersection with West Olive Street and Gibson was unable to stop resulting in the Gibson vehicle sliding into the ditch where it struck a pole. No injuries were reported. Gibson was cited for failure to obey a stop sign and yield the right of way. Damage to the Gibson vehicle was estimated at $5,000.

• On Sunday, a car driven by an unknown driver was southbound on Ninth Street attempting to turn onto Washington Street when it collided head-on with a vehicle driven by Nathan Oliver Manning, 35, of Marshalltown, then it left the scene without rendering aid or information. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Manning vehicle was estimated at $3,000.

• On Friday, Diego Villa-Magana, 32, was arrested on a warrant for failure to appear for arraignment.

• On Saturday, Stephanie Sue Howell, 29, was arrested on a warrant.

• On Saturday, Angel Manuel Arroyo Davila, 19, was arrested on a warrant.

• On Sunday, Linsey Delgado, 30, was arrested for operating while under the influence-first offense and public intoxication-second offense.
