• Te dlana Jo Halverson made an initial appearance on a probation violation charge. The public defender’s office was appointed as counsel. The probation revocation hearing will be scheduled by the District Associate Court. Bond is set at $2,000 cash or surety.

• Marisa Mae Easton, of State Center, made an initial appearance on a theft-third degree charge. The public defender’s office was appointed as counsel. The preliminary hearing is scheduled at 1 p.m. on Jan. 11. Bond is set at $2,000 cash or surety.

• Omar Alejandro Cruz made an initial appearance on a parole violation charge. Breanna Nelson was appointed as counsel. The parole revocation hearing will be scheduled by the administrative court judge and the parole board. Cruz is being held without bond.

• Elizabeth Marie Bell made an initial appearance on a disorderly conduct charge. Bell pleaded guilty and the fine is $65 with a $22.75 surcharge and court costs of $60 for a total of $147.75, due within 30 days.

• Jeremy Lynn Lavender made an initial appearance on a criminal mischief-fourth degree charge and an interference with official acts charge. The public defender’s office is appointed as counsel. The preliminary hearing is scheduled at 1 p.m. on Jan. 11. Bond is set at $1,000 cash or surety.

• Evelia Robles Mendoza made an initial appearance through counsel, Kevin O’Hare, on a probation violation charge. The probation revocation hearing will be scheduled by the District Court.

• Logan Andrew Calkins made an initial appearance on two counts of a probation violation charge. The public defender’s office is appointed as counsel. The probation revocation hearing is scheduled at 1:30 p.m. on Feb. 11.

Accidents

• On Dec. 8, a vehicle driven by Jean Marie Weatherman, 82, of Marshalltown, was northbound on Fourth Street stopped at the intersection with West Olive Street when it proceeded forward to make a right turn and collided with a vehicle driven by Carol Joanne Huff, 59, of Marshalltown. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Huff vehicle was estimated at $4,000 while the Weatherman vehicle received an estimated $2,000 in damage.

• On Dec. 23, a car driven by Elaine Marie Locke, 71, of Marshalltown, was southbound on Highland Acres Road at the intersection with Lincoln Way when Locke proceeded forward and was broadsided by a pickup driven by Michael Lyle McKibben, 37, of Marshalltown, which was westbound on Lincoln Way. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Locke car was estimated at $3,000 while the McKibben pickup received an estimated $800 in damage.

• On Dec. 28, a vehicle driven by Arturo Juarez Rodriguez, 49, of Marshalltown, was southbound on South Sixth Street climbing an incline hill in the roadway when his vehicle lost traction on the icy roadway resulting in it crossing the turn lane and colliding with a vehicle driven by Ramon C. Garcia, 63, of Marshalltown. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Garcia vehicle was estimated at $1,000 while the Juarez Rodriguez vehicle received an estimated $1,500 in damage.

• On Dec. 28, a car driven by Genevieve Crawford, 82, of Marshalltown, was southbound on South Center Street when she attempted a left turn onto Southridge Road colliding with a car driven by Trisha Lea Dobson, 49, of Le Grand, which was traveling north on South Center Street. No injuries were reported. Crawford was cited for failure to yield upon a left turn. Damage to the Crawford car was estimated at $500 while the Dobson car received an estimated $1,800 in damage.

• On Dec. 30, a car driven by America Garcia, 44, of Marshalltown, was westbound on Church Street in the outside lane when it attempted a left turn and collided with a pickup driven by Michelle Jaclyn Derossett, 31, of Melbourne, which was traveling in the inside lane. No injuries were reported. Garcia was cited for turning from improper lane. Damage to the Garcia car was estimated at $5,000 while the Derossett pickup received an estimated $2,000 in damage.

• On Dec. 31, a car driven by a 17-year-old male from State Center was backing out of a parking spot at Arby’s when it struck a legally parked Chrysler 300. No injuries were reported. Damage to both vehicles was estimated at $2,000 each.

• On Jan. 1, a vehicle driven by Shevaun Marie Bastarache, 44, of Marshalltown, was southbound on South 18th Avenue when it struck a deer that entered the roadway. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Bastarache vehicle was estimated at $2,000.

• On Jan. 1, a car driven by Ryan Mitchell Roberts, 22, of Marshalltown, was eastbound on Byron Street when, as a result of the icy roadway, it struck a dumpster located on the south side of the street. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Roberts car was estimated at $5,000.

• On Jan. 1, a minivan driven by Steven Ray Cordes, 71, of Marshalltown, was sitting in a drive-thru line at a fast food restaurant when his foot slipped off the brake and hit the accelerator causing his minivan to collide with the rear of a vehicle driven by Tiffany Brooke Bivens, 43, of Arlington, Texas. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Cordes minivan was estimated at $4,000 while the Bivens vehicle received an estimated $5,000 in damage.

• On Dec. 31, Donald Paul Boucher, 60, was cited for leaving the scene of an accident -property damage only, no insurance, use of an electronic communication device-age 18 or older, failure to obey a stop sign at a railroad crossing and failure to carry a registration card.

• On Jan. 1, Elijah Dayton West, 19, was cited for possession of alcohol by a person under legal age.

• On Jan. 2, Michael Lloyd See, 59, was cited for driving while license is denied, cancelled, revoked or suspended, no insurance and no valid driver’s license.

• On Monday, Salud Castillo, 25, was arrested on a warrant.

• On Monday, Tracy Cartee, 53, was arrested for obstruction of emergency communications and domestic abuse assault-first offense.

• On Monday, Andrew Schooley, 26, was arrested on a warrant.

• On Tuesday, Raymond Horrell, 48, was arrested on a warrant.

• On Tuesday, Miguel Miranda, 19, was arrested for failure to obey a stop sign and yield the right of way, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of marijuana-first offense.

• On Tuesday, David Peppers, 51, was arrested for violation of a no-contact order/contempt of court.

• On Wednesday, Elizabeth Bell, 30, was arrested for disorderly conduct.

• On Wednesday, Jaimee Alcarez, 21, was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia.

• On Wednesday, Jeremy Lavender, 33, was arrested for criminal mischief-fourth degree and interference with official acts.
