• Christian Louis Fisher made an initial appearance on a driving under suspension charge. Fisher pleaded guilty and the fine is $250 with an $87.50 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $397.50, due within 30 days.

• Amanda Ranae Tallman failed to make an initial appearance on a driving under suspension charge. The Magistrate found Tallman guilty and a fine of $250 with an $87.50 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $397.50 was imposed, due within 30 days.

Incidents

• On Sunday, an attempted burglary was reported in the 600 block of Woodbury Street.

• On Sunday, a case of criminal mischief to property and a burglary was reported in the 300 block of North Seventh Avenue.

Citations

• On Sunday, Jamie Lee Lopez, 30, was arrested for driving while license is denied, cancelled, revoked or suspended.

Arrests

• On Saturday, Tyler Weitzell, 31, was arrested for public intoxication-first offense.

• On Saturday, Jessica Schossow, 29, was arrested for speeding, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of a Scheduled II controlled substance-first offense and operating while under the influence-first offense.

• On Sunday, Michael Ingerson, 20, was arrested on a warrant.

Accidents

• On Feb. 11, a vehicle driven by Terri Ann Landt, 66, of Marshalltown, was eastbound on West Southridge approaching South Center Street when, due to the snow/ice road conditions, it starting sliding to a stop and collided with the rear of a vehicle driven by Valerie Jo Busse, 62, of Marshalltown, which was stopped at an angle in both lanes. No injuries were reported. Damage to both vehicles was estimated at $1,000 each.

• On Feb. 11, a vehicle driven by Debra Rae Coler, 62, of Marshalltown, was southbound on North Third Avenue when it left the traveled portion of the roadway, struck a utility pole and then continued south where it came to a stop just before East State Street. No injuries were reported. Coler was cited for failure to maintain control, no insurance-accident and operating while intoxicated-second offense. Damage to the Coler vehicle was estimated at $4,000 while the utility pole sustained an estimated $100 in damage.

• On Saturday, a vehicle driven by Andrea Sue Tesdahl, 28, of Marshalltown, was exiting a driveway onto South Sixth Avenue when it collided with a legally parked Chevy Silverado on the opposite side of the street. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Tesdahl vehicle was estimated at $2,500 while the Chevy Silverado received an estimated $2,000 in damage.

• On Monday, a pickup driven by Michael Troy Schmidt, 53, of Marshalltown, was plowing out a driveway on Summit Street when it backed all the way out and collided with a pickup driven by Jack Allen Huen, 66, of Liscomb, which was traveling east on Summit Street. No injuries were reported. Schmidt was cited for failure to yield upon entering a through highway. Damage to the Schmidt pickup was estimated at $2,000 while the Huen pickup received an estimated $3,500 in damage.

Arrests

• On Saturday, Seton Vest, 24, was arrested on a mittimus warrant for failure to service jail time.

• On Saturday, Zachary Anderson, 31, was arrested on a warrant charging him with reckless driving, domestic abuse assault-causing mental illness or injury-first offense, driving while barred and child endangerment.

Accidents

• On Feb. 14, a car driven by Brenden Van Gorp, 18, of Bondurant, was southbound on Highway 14 four miles northwest of Conrad when it struck snow on or along the highway causing it to roll over onto its top resulting in a white out condition which caused a vehicle driven by JoAnne Hanson, 61, of Dike, to collide with the Van Gorp car. Van Gorp was transported to Grundy County Memorial Hospital with minor injuries. Damage to the Van Gorp car was estimate at $3,000 while the Hanson vehicle received an estimated $15,000 in damage. The accident remains under investigation.

• On Feb. 12, a pickup driven by Hugo Martin Ramos, 21, of Sioux City, was westbound on Highway 20 near Dike when it attempted to pass a semi driven by Randell Williams, 60, of Marion, went into a spin, collided with the side of the semi and entered the median. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Ramos pickup was estimated at $6,000 while then semi sustained an estimated $5,000 in damage. The accident remains under investigation.

• On Feb. 12, a pickup driven by Taylor Williams, 28, of Grundy Center, was southbound on Highway 14 when it encountered an icy roadway and began to slow to allow a car driven by Austin Burroughs, 20, of Grundy Center, to pass him. Burroughs applied his brakes, went into a slide and collided with the rear of the Williams pickup. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Williams pickup was estimated at $500 while the Burroughs car received an estimated $5,000 in damage. The accident remains under investigation.

• On Feb. 9, a vehicle driven by Rex Barto, 55, of Dike, was exiting his driveway onto Seventh Street in Dike when it collided with a car driven by Christine Geiken, 25, of Dike. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Barto vehicle was estimated at $500 while then Geiken car received an estimated $3,000 in damage. The accident remains under investigation.
