Court — Monday

• Delilah Elaine Mauskemo made an initial appearance on a failure to appear for a contempt hearing charge and a failure to appear for a sentencing hearing charge. Breanne Nelson will continue as counsel on the contempt case and Merrill Swartz will continue as counsel on the sentencing hearing case. Both cases will be rescheduled by the District Associate Court. Mauskemo was released on her promise to appear with the order to contact both her attorneys within 48 hours.

• Timothy Peter Kavanaugh made an initial appearance on a voluntary absence from custody charge. The public defender’s office is appointed as counsel. The preliminary hearing is scheduled at 1 p.m. on April 9. Bond is set at $5,000 cash only.

• Kindra I. Inman made an initial appearance on a child endangerment causing bodily injury charge. The public defender’s office is appointed as counsel. The preliminary hearing is scheduled at 1 p.m. on April 19. A no-contact order has been issued for the protected party.

• Deborah Kay Ferguson made an initial appearance on a possession of marijuana-second offense charge and a possession of drug paraphernalia charge. The public defender’s office is appointed as counsel. The preliminary hearing is scheduled at 1 p.m. on April 19. A substance abuse evaluation is ordered with the results submitted to the court within 60 days.

• Kendra Christine Savage made an initial appearance on a driving under suspension charge. Savage pleaded not guilty and a pre-trial conference is scheduled at 9:30 a.m. on May 15 in Magistrate Court.

• Ndayishimiye Solange failed to make an appearance on a violation of a restricted license charge and a failure to maintain control charge and the court found Solange guilty on both counts. The fine on the restricted license violation is $50 with a $17.50 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $127.50. The fine on the failure to maintain control charge is $100 with a $35 surcharge and $60 i court costs for total of $195. All payments are due within 30 days.

Incidents

• On Friday, a burglary was reported in the 500 block of North Third Street.

• On Friday, a theft valued between $200 – $500 was reported to the Marshalltown Police Station.

• On Saturday, two cases of vandalism to property were reported in the 700 block of South 12th Avenue.

• On Sunday, three burglaries of unoccupied motor vehicles were reported in the 1100 block of South First Street.

• On Friday, Javier Gonzalez-Torres, 41, was cited for improper rear lamps.

• On Saturday, David Brown, 55, was cited for registration violation.

• On Monday, Seth Gummert, 30, was arrested for possession of marijuana-second offense and possession of drug paraphernalia.

• On Sunday, Reonna Spencer, 21, was arrested for driving a commercial motor vehicle while disqualified.

• On Sunday, Michael Reeves, 39, was arrested on a warrant.

• On Sunday, Kenneth Keller Jr., 32, was arrested for open container.

• On Sunday, Lakeisha Hardin, 27, was arrested for open container.

• On Sunday, Elick Verdulla, 36, was arrested for operating while under the influence-first offense.

• On Friday, Javier Gonzalez-Torres, 41, was arrested for driving under suspension .

• On Friday, Miguel Ordaz Ochoa, 23, was arrested for driving under suspension and eluding.

• On Friday, Irene Rivers, 29, was arrested for driving while license is denied, cancelled, revoked or suspended.

• On Friday, Andres Rodriguez Gutierrez, 24, was arrested for driving while license is denied, cancelled, revoked or suspended.

Accidents

• On Saturday, a car driven by Rosario Sanchez Cuenca, 34, of Marshalltown, was northbound on North Third Avenue when it left the roadway and struck a light pole. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Sanchez Cuenca car was estimated at $10,000 while the Alliant Energy pole received an estimated $8,000 in damage.

• On Saturday, Josue Jovanni Ortiz, 31, was arrested for no valid driver’s license, driving under suspension and driving while barred.

• On Saturday, Levi David Phillips, 23, was arrested for driving while license is denied, cancelled, revoked or suspended, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of marijuana-first offense and possession of methamphetamine-first offense.

• On Saturday, Rainelle Jade Papakee, 21, was arrested on a warrant from another county.

• On Sunday, William John Simpson, 47, was arrested on a warrant.

• On Sunday, Delilah Elaine Mauskemo, 33, was arrested on a warrant.

• On Sunday, Charles Scott Chambers Jr., 48, was arrested for operating while under the influence-first offense.
