Court — Tuesday

• Kristopher Matthias Kruger made an initial appearance on a possession of methamphetamine charge, an unlawful possession of prescription drugs charge, an interference with official acts charge, a possession of drug paraphernalia charge and a absence from custody charge. The public defender’s office is appointed as counsel. The preliminary hearing is scheduled at 1 p.m. on April 11. Bond is set at $5,000 cash only. A substance abuse evaluation is ordered with the results submitted to the court within 60 days.

• Jennifer Michelle Nail made an initial appearance on a probation violation charge. Marshon Dubbert will continue as counsel. The probation revocation hearing 9:30 a.m on April 8. Bond is set at $2,000 cash only.

• Raymond Joseph Willson made an initial appearance on three counts of a probation violation charge and an interference with official acts charge. Megan Keller will continue as counsel. The probation revocation hearing will be heard at a sentencing hearing at 9:30 a.m. on April 22. A pre-trial conference will be scheduled for the interference charge at 9:30 a.m. on May 1 in Magistrate Court.

Willson is being held without bond on the probation violations and on a $300 cash only bond for the interference charge.

• Valentin Alvarez Vega, of Waterloo, made an initial appearance on a failure to appear for a pre-trial conference on a disorderly conduct charge and a public intoxication charge. The pre-trial conference is rescheduled at 9:30 a.m. on April 10 in Magistrate Court. Alvarez Vega is released on his promise to appear.

Incidents

• On Monday, a burglary of an unoccupied motor vehicle was reported in the 200 block of East Linn Street.

• On Monday, a burglary with vandalism to property and two other burglaries were reported in the 300 block of North 12th Avenue.

• On Monday, Juan Lara, 19, was cited for driving under suspension.

• On Monday, Jennifer Michelle Nail, 36, was arrested on a warrant.

• On Monday, Raymond Joseph Willson, 31, was arrested on a warrant.

• On Monday, Seth Gummert, 30, was arrested for possession of marijuana-second offense and possession of drug paraphernalia.

• On Monday, Justin Zitzow, 22, was arrested for possession of marijuana-first offense, possession of drug paraphernalia and on a warrant.

• On Monday, Kristopher Kruger, 21, was arrested for possession of a controlled substance, unlawful possession of prescription drugs, possession of drug paraphernalia and interference with official acts.

• On Monday, Irene Castellanos-Espinoza, 19, was arrested for driving while license is denied or revoked and failure to obey a traffic control device.

Accidents

• On March 27, a minivan driven by Michelle Denice Mahoney, 51, of Marshalltown, was attempting a left turn when it crossed the path of a car driven by Rodney Brad Wolford, of Des Moines, resulting in a collision. Mahoney was transported to UnityPoint Health-Marshalltown. Damage to the Mahoney minivan was estimated at $500 while the Wolford car received an estimated $3,000 in damage.

• On Monday, a car driven by Mary Etta Fisher, 93, of Marshalltown, was southbound on Waconda Road approaching West Southridge Road when it went through the stop sign into the path of a vehicle driven by Allen Richard Dale, 64, of Marshalltown, resulting in a collision. No injuries were reported. Fisher was cited for failure to obey a traffic control device. Damage to the Dale vehicle was estimated at $6,000 while the Fisher car received an estimated $3,000 in damage.

• On Tuesday, a vehicle driven by Jerald Lester Stahlhut, 67, of Marshalltown, was backing a small utility trailer into his garage when the trailer turned too sharp resulting in the corner of the trailer hitting the rear side bumper and cracking it. Stahlhut was able to manually push the trailer in to the garage and then attempted to back the vehicle in as the garage door was coming down. The vehicle struck the garage door causing damage to the the top and rear end of the vehicle and the garage door. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Stahlhut vehicle was estimated at $1,700 while the garage door sustained an estimated $200 in damage.
