• Shana Arp made an initial appearance on a compulsory education violation charge. Arp pleaded not guilty and a pre-trial conference is scheduled at 9:30 a.m. on June 5 in Magistrate Court.

• Jose L. Ibarra made an initial appearance on a dogs at large charge and a no vaccination charge. Ibarra pleaded not guilty and a pre-trial conference is scheduled at 9:30 a.m. on June 12 in Magistrate Court.

Accidents

• On May 7, a minivan driven by Cynthia Rae Kutzner, 67, of Marshalltown, was exiting a business driveway onto East Southridge Road when it collided with a car driven by Lisa Jane Knox, 52, of Marshalltown, which was traveling west on Southridge Road. No injuries were reported. Kutzner was cited for failure to yield upon entering a through highway. Damage to the Knox car was estimated at $1,500 while the minivan received an estimated $750 in damage.• On May 9, a minivan driven by Karen Leigh Stanley, 50, of Marshalltown, was southbound on South Center Street when it collided with the rear of a car driven by Todd Christopher Bolar, 49, of Marshalltown, which was stopped awaiting to turn left onto High Street. No injuries were reported. Stanley was cited for no insurance-accident. Damage to the Stanley minivan was estimated at $3,000 while the Bolar car received an estimated $4,000 in damage.

• On May 8, a car driven by a 16-year-old female from Marshalltown was exiting the east driveway of the Marshalltown High School parking lot onto Olive Street when it collided with a vehicle driven by a 15-year-old female from Marshalltown that was signalling to turn into the Bobcat Boulevard. No injuries were reported. The 16-year-old was cited for failure to yield upon entering a through highway. Damage to the car was estimated at $3,500 while the 15-year-old’s vehicle received an estimated $4,000 in damage.

• On May 8, a car driven by Julio Cesar Sanchez Martinez, 20, of Marshalltown, was exiting a parking spot at the Marshalltown Community College campus when it collided with a pickup driven by Anna Lee Dent, 55, of Marshalltown, which was driving through the lot. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Dent pickup was estimated a $1,000 while the Sanchez Martinez car received an estimated $1,500 in damage.

• On May 8, a pickup pulling a trailer driven by Kaylee Marie Kamp Hernandez, 22, of Grinnell, was attempting a u-turn at Second Avenue and Byron Street when the trailer swung around and struck a legally parked Chevy Impala. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Impala was estimated at $3,000 while the trailer sustained an estimated $100 in damage.

• On May 9, an unknown vehicle was exiting a driveway onto Huisman Circle when it struck a legally parked Toyota Tahoe and then left the scene. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Tahoe was estimated at $1,875.

• On May 9, a car driven by a 17-year-old female from Marshalltown was northbound on South Center Street attempting to turn left onto South Street when it collided with a car driven by Vicki Lee Holden, 68, of Marshalltown, that was southbound on South Center Street. Holden was transported to UnityPoint Health-Marshalltown. The juvenile was cited for failure to yield upon a left turn. Damage to both vehicles was estimated at $3,000 each.
