Court — Tueday

• Diego Nathaniel Murillo made an initial appearance on a probation violation charge. Chad Frese has been hired as counsel. The probation revocation hearing will be scheduled by the District Court. Bond is set at $10,000 cash or surety.

Court — Wednesday

• Alesha Lorraine Sanders made an initial appearance on a probation violation charge. A public defender was appointed as counsel. The probation revocation hearing is set for 3 p.m. May 16. Bond is set at $5,000 cash only.

• Justin Scott Zitzow made an initial appearance on two counts of forgery and three counts of fifth-degree theft. A public defender was appointed. A preliminary hearing is set for 1 p.m. May 10. Bond is set at $10,000 cash or surety.

• Oscar Miguel Nunez Cabrera made an initial appearance on a violation of no contact order charge. He bonded out before court.

• Abdelrahman Obaidalla Abdalla made an initial appearance on a public intoxication charge. He pleaded guilty and the fine is $65 with a $17.50 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $142.50.

• Jeffry Allen Geiger made an initial appearance on a fifth-degree theft charge. He pleaded guilty and the fine is $65 with a $22.75 surcharge, $60 in court costs and $125 fine for failure to appear for a total of $272.75.

• Kalpesh Patel made an initial appearance on a speeding charge. He pleaded guilty and the fine is $20 with a $7 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $87.

• Justin Senethavysouk made an initial appearance on a speeding charge, a no valid drivers license charge and a driving while license under suspension charge.

• Joan Marie Swanson made an initial appearance on a driving under suspension charge and a speeding charge. A pre-trial conference was scheduled for 9:30 a.m. June 5.

• John Demetrus Wallace made an initial appearance on a controlled substance violation charge, a failure to affix drug stamp charge and a keeping premises or vehicle for controlled substance violation. A public defender was appointed and a preliminary hearing was set for May 20.

• Gabriel Omar Santos Lopez made an initial appearance on a driving while barred charge. A public defender was appointed. A preliminary hearing was set for 1 p.m. May 17.

Incidents

• On Monday, theft valued between $200 – $500 was reported to the Marshalltown Police Station.

• On Monday, a case of vandalism to property was reported in the 500 block of East Boone Street.

• On Monday, a theft of a motor vehicle was reported in the 1000 block of West Boone Street.

Citations

• On Monday, April Leah Jefferson, 41, was cited for operating a non-registered vehicle and no insurance.

Arrests

• On Monday, April Jefferson, 41, was arrested for driving while license is denied, cancelled, revoked or suspended.

• On Tuesday, Andrew Bramon, 19, was arrested for fifth-degree theft.

• On Tuesday, Abdelrahman Abdalla, 48, was arrested for public intoxication.

• On Tuesday, Luis Garcia, 28, was arrested for driving while license denied, suspended, cancelled or revoked.

• On Tuesday, Justin Zitzow, 22, was arrested for forgery and fifth-degree theft.

• On Tuesday, Crystal Lennie, 29, was arrested for driving while barred habitual offender and assault.

Accidents

• On Sunday, a car driven by Charlie Moon, 46, of Marshalltown, was southbound on Third Street when it crossed over into the northbound lane and struck a legally parked Ram pickup. Moon was transported to UnityPoint Health-Marshalltown by ambulance. Damage to the Moon car was estimated at $5,000 while the Ram pickup received an estimated $2,000 in damage.

• On Monday, a car driven by a 17-year-old female from Marshalltown was southbound on South Center Street attempting to turn onto South Street when it collided with a vehicle driven by Brian Joseph Szuch, 68, of Onondaga, Mich. No injuries were reported. The juvenile was cited for failure to yield upon a left turn. Damage to the car was estimated at $5,000 while the Szuch vehicle received an estimated $2,500 in damage.

Arrests

• Alesha Lorrain Sanders, 31, was arrested for a probation violation.

Accidents

• On Tuesday, April 23, a pickup driven by Susan Lynne Ottilie, 50, of Marshalltown, was westbound on Summit Street at a high rate of speed when it failed to stop at the stop sign at Marsh Avenue and attempted to turn right where the driver lost control, entered the west ditch and rolled onto its top. Ottilie was transported to UnityPoint Health-Marshalltown. Ottilie was cited for driving under suspension and failure to obey a stop sign. Damage to the Ottilie pickup was estimated at $6,000.

• On Thursday, April 25, a pickup driven by Ty Alan Charles Johnson, 21, of Grinnell, was westbound on 330th Street when the driver lost control of the vehicle and entered the north ditch where it rolled several times before coming to a stop on its tires. No injuries were reported. Johnson was cited for failure to use a safety belt. Damage to the Johnson pickup was estimated at $15,000.

• On Friday, April 26, a car driven by Kevin Ray Schwartz, 58, of Des Moines, was westbound on Highway 30 when it struck a deer that entered the roadway causing severe front end damage. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Schwartz car was estimated at $5,000.

April 28

• The Marshalltown Fire Department responded to a building fire at 802 S. Third Ave., a gasoline or other flammable liquid spill at Main Street and Ninth Street, a motor vehicle accident with injuries at 22 N. Center St. and eight medical assists with the EMS crew to: 1706 Olson Way, 610 Fremont St., 1320 Summit St., 510 Edgebrook Court, 202 Highland Acres Road, 202 N. Second Ave., 2010 Stratford Lane and 3212 S. Fifth Ave.

April 27

• The Marshalltown Fire Department responded to a dispatched/cancelled en route to 510 Edgebrook Court and three medical assists with the EMS crew to: 13009 Larkfield Court, 211 W. Olive St. and 1012 S. Seventh Ave.

April 26

• The Marshalltown Fire Department responded to two dispatched/cancelled en routes to 207 E. Main St. and 402 Plaza Heights Road and four medical assists with the EMS crew to: 708 Jackson Street, 205 W. Main St., 2312 S. Fifth Ave. and 1702 S. Seventh St.

April 25

• The Marshalltown Fire Department responded to a vehicle accident, general cleanup at Meadow Lane and South Center Street, a medical assist with the EMS crew to 108 Washington St. and an unauthorized burning at 809 S. Ninth Street and West Church Street.

April 24

• The Marshalltown Fire Department responded to an unauthorized burning at 1005 W. Boone St., a authorized, controlled burning at 504 N. Fourth St. and eight medical assists with the EMS crew to: 101 NewCastle Road, 1609 S. Center St., 109 N. Third St., 55 Central Iowa Drive, 200 S. 12th Ave., 1422 W. Linn St., 1505 W. Church St. and 303 S. Fourth Ave.

April 23

• The Marshalltown Fire Department responded to eight medical assists with the EMS crew to: 1301 Summit St., 533 N. Third St., 309 W. Boone St., 1 W. Grant St., 113 Bohen St., 514 E. Olive St., 513 E. Olive St. and 805 E. State St.

• The Marshalltown Fire Department responded to a carbon monoxide incident at 1407 S. Center St. and three medical assists with the EMS crew to: 533 N. Third St., 601 N. Second Ave. and 7 N. 17th St.
