Court — Wednesday

• Troy Anthony Williams-Vierkant made an initial appearance on a parole violation charge. Christian Stickrod is appointed as counsel. The parole revocation hearing will be scheduled by the Administrative Law Judge and the Department of Correctional Services. Williams-Vierkant is being held without bond.

• George Gomez made an initial appearance on a sex offender registry violation charge and two counts of a probation violation charge. The public defender’s office is appointed as counsel. The preliminary hearing for the new charge is set at 1 p.m. on June 28. Gomez is being held without bond on this charge. The probation revocation hearings will be scheduled by the District Associate Court and the District Court. Bond on these is set at $7,000 cash only.

• Christopher Michael Burke made an initial appearance on a domestic abuse assault causing bodily injury-first offense charge, two counts of a child endangerment charge and an interference with official acts charge. Jeff Hazen is appointed as counsel. The preliminary hearing is scheduled at 1 p.m. on July 9. Burke is released on his promise to appear. The court ordered that Burke provide his attorney with a new address of residence within 24 hours. A no-contact order has been issued for the protected party.

• Matthew Dean Barber made an initial appearance on a warrant charging him with failure to appear for a guilty plea hearing. Bond is set at $20,000 cash only.

• Jason Michael Howell made an initial appearance on a parole violation charge. Jennie Wilson-Moore is appointed as counsel. The parole revocation hearing will be scheduled by the Administrative Law Judge and the Department of Correctional Services. Howell is being held without bond.

• Brady James Black made an initial appearance on a probation violation charge. The public defender’s office is appointed as counsel. The probation revocation hearing will be scheduled by the District Court. Bond is set at $10,000 cash only.

• Lashawn Doncel Scates made an initial appearance on two counts of a probation violation charge. The public defender’s office is appointed as counsel. The probation revocation hearing will be scheduled by the District Court. Bond is set at $10,000 cash or surety.

• Micheal Allen Boge made an initial appearance on a domestic abuse assault-third or subsequent offense charge. The public defender’s office is appointed as counsel. The preliminary hearing is scheduled at 1 p.m. on June 28. Bond is set at $5,000 cash or surety. A no-contact order has been issued for the protected party.

• Adam Scott Leiva made an initial appearance on an interference with official acts charge. Leiva pleaded guilty and the fine is $250 with a $87.50 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $397.50, due within 30 days.

• Kimberly Miller made an initial appearance on a theft-second degree charge. The public defender’s office is appointed as counsel. The preliminary hearing is scheduled at 1 p.m. on July 9. Miller is released on her promise to appear.

• Matraisa Wilts made an initial appearance on a speeding charge. Wilts pleaded not guilty and a pre-trial conference is scheduled at 9:30 a.m. on July 10 in Magistrate Court.

• Marissa Dawn Nelson made an initial appearance on a driving under suspension charge. Nelson pleaded guilty and the fine is $250 with an $87.50 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $397.50, due within 30 days.

• David Michael Myers made an initial appearance on a driving while revoked charge and a leaving the scene of an accident-property damage only charge. The public defender’s office is appointed as counsel. The preliminary hearing is scheduled at 1 p.m. on July 9. Myers is released on his promise to appear.

• Jose Eduardo Rodriguez Lopez made an initial appearance on a driving while barred charge. The preliminary hearing is scheduled at 1 p.m. on July 9. Rodriguez Lopez is released on his promise to appear.

Accidents

• On June 10, a vehicle driven by Ali Fawzaz, 24, of Coralville, was westbound on Highway 20 when it struck a deer that entered the roadway. No injuries were reported. Damage to the vehicle was estimated at $5,000.

• On June 10, a ar driven by Amber Sly, 41, of Holland, was eastbound on 190th Street west of Highway 14 when it struck a deer that entered the roadway. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Sly car was estimated at $2,500.
