Court — Monday

• Henry Alfred Segovia made an initial appearance on a domestic abuse assault-second offense charge and a driving under suspension charge. Jeffrey Hazen is appointed as counsel. The preliminary hearing is scheduled at 1 p.m. on July 3. Bond is set at $2,000 cash or surety. A no-contact order has been issued for the protected party.

• Julie Ellen Dobraska made an initial appearance on a operating while intoxicated-first offense charge and a littering charge. The public defender’s office is appointed as counsel. The preliminary hearing is scheduled at 1 p.m. on July 12. Dobraska is released on her promise to appear. A substance abuse evaluation is ordered with the results submitted to the court within 60 days.

• Celena Johnson made an initial appearance on a no insurance charge. Johnson pleaded not guilty and a pre-trial conference is scheduled at 9:30 a.m. on July 24 in Magistrate Court.

• Bryant Cummins made an initial appearance on an assault charge and a disorderly conduct charge. Cummins will hire his own counsel. The preliminary hearing is scheduled at 1 p.m. on July 12. Bond will continue as posted until the conclusion of this case.

• Austin Allen McDaniel made an initial appearance on an interference with official acts charge and a trespass-first offense charge. McDaniel pleaded not guilty and a pre-trial conference was scheduled at 9:30 a.m. on July 31 in Magistrate Court.

• Maria Elena Verdinez made an initial appearance with a Spanish interpreter on a driving under suspension charge and a speeding charge. Verdinez pleaded guilty to both charges. On the driving under suspension charge the fine is $250 with an $87.50 surcharge, a $5 county enforcement initiative surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $402.50. The fine on the speeding charge is $20 with a $7 surcharge, a $5 county enforcement initiative surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $92. All payments are due within 30 days.

• Alicia Alice Papakee, of Tama, made an initial appearance on a driving under suspension charge. Papakee pleaded not guilty and a pre-trial conference is scheduled at 9:30 a.m. on July 24 in Magistrate Court.
