Court — Thursday

• Agustin Quetzecua Alejo made an initial appearance on a domestic abuse assault charge and a child endangerment charge. Christian Stickrod is appointed as counsel. The preliminary hearing is scheduled at 1 p.m. on July 5. Bond is set at $2,000 cash only. A no-contact order has been issued for the protected parties.

• Jessica Anita Perez made an initial appearance on a probation violation charge. The public defender’s office is appointed as counsel. The probation revocation hearing will be scheduled by the District Associate Court. Bond is set at $1,000 cash only.

• Delilah Elaine Mauskemo made an initial appearance on a failure to appear for a sentencing hearing charge. Merrill Swartz will continue as counsel. The sentencing hearing will be rescheduled by the District Associate Court. Bond is set at $2,000 cash only.

• Jose A. Cervantes made an initial appearance through a Spanish interpreter on a pre-trial release violation charge and a failure to file a written arraignment charge. Aron Vaughn will continue as counsel on the case involving the pre-trial release and the public defender’s office will continue representation on the case involving the arraignment. Pre-trial release was revoked. The arraignment hearing will be rescheduled by the District Associate Court. Bond is set at $2,000 cash or surety.

• Antoinette Berndette Wallace made an initial appearance on a theft-fifth degree charge. Wallace pleaded not guilty and a pre-trial conference is scheduled at 9 a.m. on July 16 in Magistrate Court.

• Maung Mile, of Waterloo, made an initial appearance through a Burmese interpreter on a trespass-first offense charge. Tyler Heeren was appointed as counsel. A pre-trial conference is scheduled at 9:30 a.m. on July 10 in Magistrate Court. Mile is released on his promise to appear.

• Justice Edwin Thompson, of Grinnell, made an initial appearance on a probation violation charge. The public defender’s office is appointed as counsel. The probation revocation hearing will be scheduled by the District Associate Court.

Accidents

• On Monday, a car driven by Rebecca Dawn West, 29, of Marshalltown, was northbound on Highland Acres Road approaching the intersection with Lincolnway. The driver stopped at the stop sign and then proceeded forward colliding with the passenger side of a car driven by Eh Kler Moo, 35, of Des Moines. No injuries were reported. West was cited for failure to obey a stop sign and yield the right of way. Damage to the West car was estimated at $2,000 while the Moo car received an estimated $1,000 in damage.

Incidents

• On Tuesday, a theft of three or four pieces of particle board was reported in the 2600 mile of 275th Street.

Arrests

• On Tuesday, Labina Michelle McDowell, 29, was arrested for possession of marijuana-first offense.

• On Tuesday, Isaac Joseph Lincoln, 37, was arrested on a warrant.

• On Wednesday, Delilah Elaine Mauskemo, 33, was arrested on a warrant.

• On Wednesday, Jessica Anita Perez, 29, was arrested on a warrant.

• On Wednesday, Willis Wade Wrase-Lasley, 39, was arrested on a warrant.

• On Wednesday, Travis John Davis, 28, was arrested on a warrant.

Accidents

• On June 10, a tractor driven by Ronald Allen McClish, 65, of Union, with a trailer in tow behind it was northbound on Zeller Avenue when the hitch malfunctioned and the trailer came up along side the tractor still attached to the hitch. No injuries were reported. The trailer had to be towed while the tractor was driven away. Damage to the trailer was estimated at $15,000.

• On June 11, a pickup driven by Wayne Edgar Shannon, 66, of Vinton, was westbound on Highway 30 when it struck a deer that entered the roadway. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Shannon pickup was estimated at $2,000.

• On June 12, a car driven by Hayley Noelle Paige, 25, of Marshalltown, was northbound on Highway 330 when it struck a deer that entered the traveled portion of the roadway. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Paige car was estimated at $3,500.

• On June 12, a pickup driven by David Lester Blackburn, 60, of Clemons, was northbound on Eastman Avenue when it struck a deer that ran from the east ditch causing damage to the grill and radiator. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Blackburn pickup was estimated at $1,500.

• On June 13, a Jeep driven by Ann M. Hughes, 66, of Lees Summit, Mo., was westbound on Highway 30 when it struck a deer that entered the roadway. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Hughes Jeep was estimated at $500.

• On June 15, a semi driven by Price A. Bridges, 39, of Elgin, Ill., was northbound on Highway 330 during a thunderstorm with heavy straight-line winds which caused the semi to overturn onto its right side with the cab coming to rest in the right lane. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Bridges semi was estimated at $20,000.

• On June 19, a Honda Civic driven by an unknown driver was involved in a single vehicle rollover on Marsh Avenue. The owner of the Honda Civic refused to speak with the officer and has obtained legal counsel. Damage to the car was estimated at $7,000.

• On June 19, a car driven by Arlene Marie Stalzer, 90, of Haverhill, was westbound on Second Street in Haverhill stopped at the intersection with Main Street and then proceeded forward and collided with a van driven by Matthew Edward Vitek, 43, of Marshalltown, which was southbound on Main Street. No injuries were reported. Damage to both vehicles was estimated at $1,500 each.

• On June 21, a pickup driven by Charles Joseph Determan, 67, of Haverhill, was eastbound on Highway 30 when it struck a deer that entered the roadway. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Determan pickup was estimated at $5,000.

• On June 22, a car driven by a 16-year-old male from Garwin was eastbound on Main Street Road when the driver crossed the center line, left the roadway onto the westbound shoulder, over corrected and lost control of the car entering the north ditch where the car rolled and came to rest on its tires. The juvenile was transported to UnityPoint Health-Marshalltown by a relative. The driver was cited for failure to maintain control. Damage to the juvenile’s car was estimated at $8,000.
