Court– Tuesday

• Jared Alan Eibs made an initial appearance on a driving while barred-habitual offender charge, a driving while revoked charge, a driving under suspension charge and a failure to use interlock device charge. The public defender’s office is appointed as counsel. The preliminary hearing is scheduled at 1 p.m. on Sept. 2. Eibs is released on his promise to appear.

• Jenny Guadalupe Gutierrez made an initial appearance on an extradition request from Minnesota charge. Tyler Heeren was appointed as counsel. Bond is set at $300 cash only.

• Maureen Jessica Creamer made an initial appearance on a probation violation charge. Chris Clausen will continue as counsel. The probation revocation hearing will be scheduled by the District Court. Bond is set at $5,000 cash or surety.

• Krystian William Gonzalez made an initial appearance on a public intoxication charge. Gonzalez pleaded guilty and the fine is $65 with a $22.75 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $147.75, due within 30 days.

• Josie Lea Doescher made an initial appearance on a failure to stop in the assured, clear distance charge. Doescher pleaded guilty and the fine is $65 with a $22.75 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $147.75, due within 30 days.

Arrests

• On Monday, Jared Eibs, 30, was arrested for driving while license is denied or revoked, driving while barred, operation without interlock device and driving under suspension.

• On Monday, Maureen Creamer, 53, was arrested on a warrant charging her with violation of probation.

Accidents

• On July 20, a car driven by Aung Lwin Win, 35, of Marshalltown, was eastbound on Main Street Road when the driver attempted to turn south onto Zeller Avenue at the same time a rear tire blew causing the vehicle to enter the southeast ditch while running over the stop sign on the corner. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Win car was estimated at $1,500 while the stop sign received an estimated $400 in damage

• On July 27, a vehicle driven by Jaamie Jalene Baer, 29, of Albion, was driving south on 165th Street when the driver fell asleep at the wheel and exited the roadway on a curve where she entered the ditch and rolled over coming to rest on the passenger side. The driver managed to free herself and exit the car before walking home. No injuries were reported. Baer was cited for failure to maintain control. Damage to the Baer vehicle was estimated at $8,000.

• On July 28, a car driven by a 17-year-old male from Marshalltown was eastbound on Highway 30 in the right lane when it veered toward the left lane, over-corrected, lost control and entered the south ditch where it sustained front end and left rear damage. No injuries were reported. The juvenile was cited for failure to maintain control. Damage to the car was estimated at $1,700.

• On July 29, a pickup driven by Travis Jacob Rhodes, 36, of Conrad, was northbound on Taylor Avenue when the driver lost control of the vehicle on the gravel, left the roadway and entered the east ditch where it rolled once and came to rest on its wheels in a bean field. No injuries were reported. Rhodes was cited for failure to maintain control. Damage to the Rhodes pickup was estimated at $2,000 while the soybean field sustained an estimated $250 in damage.

• On Aug. 4, a car driven by Ryley Dean Overton, 18, of Laurel, was southbound on Smith Avenue when it swerved to avoid hitting a deer that entered the roadway went into the west ditch, struck a fiber optic pedestal and made its way back onto the roadway where it stopped. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Overton car was estimated at $2,500 while the fiber optic pedestal received an estimated $6,000 in damage.

• On Aug. 5, a vehicle driven by Marcella Marie Gilliland, 68, of Sarasota, Fla., was northbound on Highway 330 when ran over an obstacle in the roadway that the driver failed to see due to the position of the sun. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Gilliland vehicle was estimated at $1,500.

• On Aug. 5, a car driven by Jeannie Renee Bilyeu, 60, of Ferguson, was northbound on Hart Avenue at the intersection with Highway 330 when the driver pulled away from the stop sign and into the path of a pickup driven by Tania Gabriela Flores Ocampo, 28, of Waterloo, resulting in a collision. No injuries were reported. Bilyeu was cited for failure to obey a stop sign. Damage to the Bilyeu car was estimated at $3,500 while the Flores Ocampo pickup received an estimated $2,000 in damage.

• On Aug. 6, a car driven by Ramon Calderon, 26, of Marshalltown, was southbound on Reed Avenue when it struck a deer that entered the roadway. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Calderon car was estimated at $3,000.

• On Thursday, a vehicle driven by Kimberly Ann Stephen, 57, of Marshalltown, was southbound on Smith Avenue when it struck a deer that entered the roadway. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Stephen vehicle was estimated at $1,500.
