Court ­– Tuesday

• Joseph Dean Ashby made an initial appearance on a probation violation charge, eight counts of violation of a no-contact order/contempt of court charge and a tampering with a witness or juror charge. Jeff Hazen is appointed as counsel. The preliminary hearing on the tampering charge is set at 1 p.m. on Aug. 30. Bond is set a $2,000 cash or surety. The contempt hearing is set at 1 p.m. on Aug. 30. Bond is set at $5,000 cash or surety. The probation revocation hearing will be scheduled by the District Associate Court. Ashby is being held without bond. A new no-contact order has been issued for the protected party.

• Giles L. Steckman made an initial appearance on a probation violation charge. The public defender’s office is appointed as counsel. The probation revocation hearing will be scheduled by the District Associate Court. Bond is set at $5,000 cash or surety.

• Guyan Michael Garrett Lucas made an initial appearance on two count of an assault causing bodily injury charge and a theft-fourth degree charge. The public defender’s office is appointed as counsel. The preliminary hearing is scheduled at 1 p.m. on Aug 30. Bond is set at $3,000 cash or surety. No-contact orders were issued for the protected parties.

• Gabriel Omar Santos Lopez made an initial appearance through a Spanish interpreter on a failure to appear for an arraignment charge. The arraignment hearing will be scheduled by the District Associate Court. Santos Lopez was ordered to speak with his lawyer, Tyler Heeren. Bond is set at $2,000 cash or surety.

• Zakk Jaymz Cobb made an initial appearance on a violation of a no-contact order/contempt of court charge, a domestic abuse assault charge, an assault causing bodily injury charge and an interference with official acts charge. The next hearing on the domestic abuse charge is set at 1:30 p.m. on Sept. 3. The contempt hearing is set at 1:30 p.m. on Sept. 3. The preliminary hearing on the assault causing bodily injury charge is set at 1 p.m. on Aug. 30. Bond is set at $2,000 cash or surety. The current no-contact order is stil in effect and a new no-contact order has been issued for the protected party.

• On Monday, a burglary of an unoccupied motor vehicle was reported in the 200 block of NewCastle Road.

• On Monday, Donnella Fisher, 41, was arrested for driving while license is denied, cancelled, revoked or suspended.

• On Monday, Kay Clark, 51, was arrested on a warrant.

• On Monday, Zakk Cobb, 20, was arrested for assault causing bodily injury.

• On Monday, Guyan Garrett-Lucas, 21, was arrested on a warrant.

Accidents

• On July 30, a vehicle driven by Randy Ellis, 36, of Marshalltown, was exiting a privated driveway in the Sunset Trailer Park when it struck a legally parked Chevy Equinox. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Ellis vehicle was estimated at $1,500 while the Equinox received an estimated $2,000 in damage.

• On July 30, a car driven by Diania Lynn Comstock, 60, of Ames, was eastbound on Linn Street in the outside lane when the driver attempted to turn right into a driveway pulling into the path of a vehicle driven by Taylor Julis Miron, 19, of Marshalltown, resulting in a collision. No injuries were reported. Damage to both vehicles was estimated at $1,500 each.

• On Aug. 13, a car driven by a 17-year-old female from Albion was southbound stopped on North First Avenue when it proceeded forward at East State Street into the path of a car driven by Azenet Krukow, 42, of Marshalltown, resulting in a collision. No injuries were reported. The juvenile was cited for failure to obey a stop sign and yield the right of way. Damage to the juvenile’s car was estimated at $4,000 while the Krukow car received an estimated $2,500 in damage.

• On Friday, a vehicle driven by Andrew Lyle Bramon, 19, of Marshalltown, was backing out of a driveway onto Debra Drive when it struck a legally parked Chevy pickup and left the scene. No injuries were reported. Bramon was cited for leaving the scene of an accident-property damage only. Damage to the Bramon vehicle was estimated a $500 while the Chevy pickup received an estimated $2,500 in damage.

• On Friday, a minivan driven by Shaun Dallas Palmer, 25, of Conrad, was eastbound on East Main Street when it struck a legally parked Ford Fusion and sent it into the rear of a legally parked Dodge before leaving the scene. No injuries were reported. Palmer was cited for striking an unattended vehicle and failure to maintain control. Damage to the Palmer minivan was estimated at $5,000 while the Ford Fusion received an estimated $10,000 in damage and the Dodge an estimated $8,000 in damage.

• On Saturday, a car driven by Savanah Jo Papiboune, 33, of Marshalltown, was attempting to turn northbound from Rolling Meadows Road onto 12th Street when the driver made a wide turn and struck a legally parked Jeep. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Jeep was estimated at $1,000 while the Papiboune car received an estimated $2,000 in damage.

Arrests

• On Friday, Bruce Wayne Gordon, 53, was arrested on a warrant.

• On Friday, Maureen Jessica Creamer, 53, was arrested on a warrant.

• On Saturday, Mina Annabeth Youngbear, 23, was arrested for assault on persons in certain occupations causing bodily injury or mental illness.

• On Saturday, Andrew Nathan Tinius, 31, was arrested for operating while under the influence-first offense and failure to maintain control.

• On Saturday, Marie Lynn Collins, 47, was arrested on a warrant.

• On Monday, a car driven by Rogelio Rocha Rodriguez, 18, of New Hampton, was westbound on Merle Hibbs Boulevard stopped a the intersection with South Sixth Street and then proceeded into the intersection where it collided with a pickup driven by Douglas Alan Norton, 53, of Marshalltown. No injuries were reported. Rocha Rodriguez was cited for failure to obey a stop sign and yield the right of way and violation of an instruction permit. Damage to both vehicles was estimated at $5,000 each.

• On Monday, Joseph Dean Ashby, 37, was arrested on a warrant charging him with eight counts of violation of a no-contact order/contempt of court, tampering with a witness or juror and probation violation.

• On Monday, Thomas Shaefer, 26, was arrested for driving while barred.

• On Monday, Brandon Senethavysouk, 18, was arrested on a warrant.

• On Monday, Gabriel Omar Santos Lopez, 25, was arrested on a warrant.

Accidents

• On Thursday, a motorcycle driven by Justin Wheeler, 19, of Rockwell City, was eastbound on Highway 175 east of T-19 when the driver lost control by getting too close to the center line with uneven lanes due to road construction resulting in the vehicle sliding onto the westbound lane and into the north ditch. Wheeler was transported to the nearest hospital with minor injuries. Wheeler was cited for violation of an instruction permit. Damage to the Wheeler motorcycle was estimated at $2,100.

• On Friday, a vehicle driven by Drew Sharp, 21, of Wellsburg, was eastbound on Highway 20 when a deer entered the roadway and was struck. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Sharp vehicle was estimated at $2,500.

• On Saturday, a vehicle driven by Bradley Aukes, 54, of Wellsburg, was westbound on Highway 20 when the driver fell asleep at the wheel and drifted into the outside lane colliding with the rear of a vehicle driven by Ronald Peterson, 53, of Iowa Falls. No injuries were reported. Aukes was cited for failure to maintain control. Damage to both vehicles was estimated at $8,000 each.
