• Michelle Anderson made an initial appearance on an ongoing criminal conduct charge, a identity theft charge and a forgery charge. The public defender’s office is appointed as counsel. The preliminary hearing is scheduled at 1 p.m. on Aug. 30. Bond is set at $25,000 cash or surety.

• Steven Terrill Thrift made an initial appearance on an obstruction of emergency communications charge, a harassment-second degree charge, an interference with official acts causing bodily injury and two counts of a violation of a no-contact order/contempt of court charge. The public defender’s office is appointed as counsel. The preliminary hearing for the new charges is scheduled at 1 p.m. on Aug. 30. The contempt hearing will be scheduled by the District Associate Court. Bond is set at $4,000 cash only. Two no-contact orders have been issued for the protected parties.

• Megan Marie Nelson made an initial appearance on a probation violation charge. Tyler Heeren is appointed as counsel. The probation revocation hearing will be scheduled by the District Associate Court. Nelson is being held without bond.

• Jessica Aguirre Rodriguez made an initial appearance on an operating while under the influence-first offense charge. The public defender’s office is appointed as counsel. The preliminary hearing is scheduled at 1 p.m. on Sept. 10. Aguirre Rodriguez is released on her promise to appear. A substance abuse evaluation is ordered with the results submitted to the court within 60 days.

• Cesar Augusto Medrano made an initial appearance on a false reporting charge. The public defender’s office is appointed as counsel. The preliminary hearing is scheduled at 1 p.m. on Sept. 10. Medrano is released on his promise to appear.

• Austin Gene Jordan made an initial appearance on a exploding fireworks that are prohibited charge. Jordan pleaded guilty and the fine is $250 with a $87.50 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $397.50, due within 30 days.

• Kevin Ray Madison Jr. made an initial appearance on a parole violation charge. Christian Stickrod is appointed as counsel. The parole revocation hearing will be scheduled by the administrative law judge and the Department of Correctional Services. Madison is being held without bond.

• Tymiesha Shavette Glass made an initial appearance on a probation violation charge. Public defender’s office is appointed as counsel. The probation revocation hearing is scheduled at 1 p.m. on Aug. 26. Bond is set at $2,000 cash only.

• Rosalind Renee Ellis made an initial appearance on a harassment-third degree charge. Ellis pleaded guilty and the fine is $65 with a $22.75 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $147.75, due within 30 days.

• Danila Quetzalli Andrade Martinez made an initial appearance on a domestic abuse assault charge. The preliminary hearing is scheduled at 1 p.m. on Sept. 10. Andrade Martinez is released on his promise to appear. A no-contact order has been issued for the protected party.

• Justin Dale Sutton made an initial appearance on a driving while revoked charge. The public defender’s office is appointed as counsel. The preliminary hearing is scheduled at 1 p.m. on Sept. 10. Sutton is released on his promise to appear.

• Larean Margraeta Skogen Walker failed to make an initial appearance on a driving while suspended charge and the court found her guilty. The fine is $250 with a $87.50 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $397.50, due within 30 days.

• Justin John Sabus made an initial appearance on a driving while suspended charge and the court found her guilty. Proof of a restored license was presented the the charge was dismissed with court costs of $60 assessed, due within 30 days.

• On Tuesday, Guyan Garrett-Lucas, 21, was arrested for assault causing bodily injury and theft-fourth degree.

• On Tuesday, Miguel Reyes Jr., 45, was arrested for driving while license is denied, cancelled, revoked or suspended.

• On Tuesday, Tymiesha Glass, 25, was arrested on a warrant.

Accidents

• On Monday, a car driven by a 14-year-old female from Melbourne was southbound on South 13th Street when it collided with a skateboarder that was unable to stop at the four-way stop sign. No injuries were reported. Damage to the juvenile’s car was estimated at $2,000.

• On Monday, a car driven by Rebecca Sue Martinez, 32, of marshalltown, was southbound on South Center Street when the driver took her eyes off the roadway for a moment and collided with the rear of a car driven by Renae Blink, 57, of Marshalltown, which was stopped in traffic. No injuries were reported. Martinez was cited for failure to stop in the assured, clear distance. Damage ot the Martinez car was estimated at $5,000 while the Blink car received an estimated $4,000 in damage.

• On Monday, a car driven by Hoi Dim, 25, of Marshalltown, was westbound on Marion Street stopped at the intersection with North Third Avenue when she proceeded forward to make a left turn into the path of a vehicle driven by Lynn Ann Olberding, 40, of Marshalltown, resulting in a collision. Dim was transported to UnityPoint Health-Marshalltown with possible injuries. Dim was cited for failure to obey a stop sign and yield the right of way and violation of an instructional permit. Damage to both vehicles was estimated at $10,000 each.

• On Tuesday, a car driven by Debra Sue Fisher, 62, of Marshalltown, was exiting a parking spot at Hy-Vee when she collided with a car driven by James Sease Milling, 72, of Ridgeway, S.C., which was driving through the lot. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Milling car was estimated at $2,500 while the Fisher car received an estimated $1,000 in damage.
