• Michael Allen Witte made an initial appearance on a parole violation charge. Breanna Nelson is appointed as counsel. The parole revocation hearing will be scheduled by the Administrative Law Judge. Witte is being held without bond.
• Hal Charles Runner made an initial appearance on a theft-second degree charge. The public defender’s office is appointed as counsel. The preliminary hearing is scheduled at 1 p.m. on Dec. 30. Bond is set at $5,000 cash or surety.
• Anthony Scott Powell made an initial appearance on two counts of a probation violation charge. The public defender’s office is appointed as counsel. The probation revocation hearing will be scheduled by the District Associate Court. Bond is set at $5,000 cash only.
• Josiah Tomas Caracoza made an initial appearance on an operating while under the influence-first offense charge, a driving under suspension charge, a no valid driver’s license charge, a possession of marijuana-first offense charge and a speeding charge. The public defender’s office is appointed as counsel. The preliminary hearing is scheduled at 1 p.m. on Jan. 6, 2020. Caracoza is released on his promise to appear. A substance abuse evaluation is ordered with the results submitted to the court within 60 days.
• Matthew John McCarthy made an initial appearance on three counts of a possession of drug paraphernalia charge and a domestic abuse assault charge. The public defender’s office is appointed as counsel. The preliminary hearing is scheduled at 1 p.m. on Dec. 27. Bond is set at $1,000 cash or surety. A no-contact order has been issued for the protected party.
