Court — Wednesday
• Sher Ni made an initial appearance on an assault charge and a criminal mischief-third degree charge. Taylor Reichardt was appointed as counsel. The preliminary hearing is scheduled for 1 p.m. on April 24. Bond is set at $2,000 cash only. A no-contact order has been issued for the protected party.
• Sondra Ragen Alas made an initial appearance on a operating while under the influence-third or subsequent offense charge and a driving while barred charge. The public defender’s office is appointed as counsel. The preliminary hearing is scheduled for 1 p.m. on April 23. Alas is released with supervision through the Department of Correctional Services and is to report to the adult probation office within 48 hours to sign a pre-trial release agreement. A substance abuse evaluation is ordered with the results submitted to the court within 60 days.

• On Tuesday, Shunte Stephens, 38, of Grundy Center, was arrested for burglary in the third degree. Stephens is being held on a $7,500 bond.
• On Tuesday, Drew Janssen, 39, of Holland, was arrested for burglary-third degree and possession of burglary tools. Janssen is being held on a $10,000 bond.
• On Tuesday, Danielle Bryant, 32, of Waterloo, was arrested for burglary in the third degree and possession of burglary tools. Bryant is being held on a $10,000 bond.
• On Tuesday, Benjamin Raney, 40, of Elk Run Heights, was arrested for burglary-third degree and possession of burglar tools. Raney is being held on a $10,000 bond.
