Court — Friday

• Kristopher Scott Smith made an initial appearance on a probation violation charge. The public defender’s office is appointed as counsel. The probation revocation hearing is scheduled for 3 p.m. on Oct. 23. Bond is set at $2,000 cash only.

Smith also made an initial appearance on a possession of methamphetamine charge, a driving while barred charge, a possession of meth-third or subsequent offense charge and a possession of drug paraphernalia charge. The public defender’s office is appointed as counsel. The preliminary hearing is scheduled for 1 p.m. on Oct. 16. Bond is set at $20,000 cash or surety. A substance abuse evaluation is ordered with the results submitted to the court within 60 days.

• Ronald William Metivier made an initial appearance on a no insurance charge, a no valid driver’s license charge and a driving under suspension charge. A pre-trial conference is scheduled for 9:30 a.m. on Dec. 2 in Magistrate Court.

• Winnifred Togba made an initial appearance on an assault charge. Allen Richards was appointed as counsel. A pre-trial conference is scheduled for 9:30 a.m. on Nov. 4. Bond will continue as posted until the conclusion of this case. A no-contact order has been issued for the protected party.

• Jennifer Nicole Eibs made an initial appearance on an assault charge. The preliminary hearing is scheduled for 1 p.m. on Oct. 29. A no-contact order has been issued for the protected party.

• Rhonda Ann Lester made an initial appearance on a driving under suspension charge and a no insurance charge. Lester pleaded guilty to both charges. On the driving under suspension charge is $250 with a $37.50 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $347.50. The fine on the no insurance is $325 with a $48.75 surcharge and $55 in court costs for a total of $428.75. All payments are due within 30 days.

• Dorian Lynette Burton made an initial appearance on a driving under suspension charge and a speeding charge. A pre-trial conference is scheduled for 9:30 a.m. on Dec. 2 in Magistrate Court.

• Khuang Lin made an initial appearance on a public intoxication charge. Lin pleaded guilty and the fine is $105 with a $15.75 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $180.75, due within 30 days.

• Richar Suastegui German made an initial appearance on a theft-fifth degree charge. A pre-trial conference is set for 9:30 a.m. on Nov. 18.

• Quinten Tyme Hafner made an initial appearance on a possession of controlled substances charge, a possession of marijuana charge, a possession of meth charge, two driving under suspension charges, an operator without registration charge, a no valid driver’s license charge, a no insurance charge and a fraudulent use of registration charge. The public defender’s office is appointed as counsel. The preliminary hearing is scheduled for 1 p.m. on Oct. 16. Bond is set at $7,000 cash or surety.

Hafner pleaded guilty to the operation without registration and the fine is $70 with a $10.50 surcharge and $55 in court costs for a total of $135.50. He pleaded guilty to the driver’s license charge and the fine is $260 with a $39 surcharge and $55 in court costs for a total of $354. Hafner pleaded guilty to no insurance and the fine is $325 with a $48.75 surcharge and $55 in court costs for a total of $428.75. The final guilty plea is for fraudulent use of registration and the fine is $260 with a $39 surcharge and $55 in court costs for a total of $354. All payments are due within 30 days.

• Denton Shane Ward made an initial appearance on a operating while under the influence-first offense charge and a no valid driver’s license charge. Ward will hire Barry Kaplan as counsel. The preliminary hearing is set for 1 p.m. on Oct. 28. A substance abuse evaluation is ordered with the results submitted to the court within 60 days.

• Adam Wesley Flathers made an initial appearance on a carrying weapons charge and a possession of drug paraphernalia charge. The public defender’s office is appointed as counsel. The preliminary hearing is scheduled for 1 p.m. on Oct. 16.

• Stacy Renee Kapayou made an initial appearance on a possession of methamphetamine charge and a possession of drug paraphernalia charge. The public defender’s office is appointed as counsel. The preliminary hearing is scheduled for 1 p.m. on Oct. 16. Bond is set at $5,000 cash or surety. A substance abuse evaluation is ordered with the results submitted to the court within 60 days.

• On Thursday, Sept. 17, an unauthorized use of a credit card under $1,000 was reported in Conrad.

Arrests

• On Thursday, Denton Ward, 37, was arrested for operating while under the influence-first offense and no valid driver’s license.

• On Thursday, , Zachary Tennison, 37, was arrested for domestic abuse assault-impeding the flow of blood and air.

• On Thursday, Ricky Mayfield Jr., 46, was arrested for unauthorized use of a credit card.

Oct. 4

• The Marshalltown Fire Department responded to a detector activation-no fire-unintentional at 410 S. First Ave., an alarm system activation-no fire-unintentional at 1602 S. Second Ave., two dispatched/canceled en route to 507 E. Church St. and 2012 S. Sixth St. and four medical assists with the EMS crew to: 3202 S. 12th St., 12 W. High St., 608 E. Olive St. and 915 W. Merle Hibbs Blvd.

• The Marshalltown Fire Department responded to a smoke detector activation-no fire-unintentional at 1200 E. Olive St., an alarm system activation-no fire-unintentional at 1602 S. Second Ave., two dispatched/canceled en route to 501 1/2 N. Center St. and East State Street and North 13th Avenue and eight medical assists with the EMS crew to: 1501 E. Nevada St., 201 W. Southridge Road, 408 W. High St., 1109 W. State St., 107 S. 16th St., 2007 Wardview Road, 2510 S. Sixth St. and 208 W. Grant St.

• The Marshalltown Fire Department responded to an extrication of victims from vehicle at 2237 Marshalltown Blvd., a dispatched/canceled en route to 2305 S. 12th St. and seven medical assists with the EMS crew to: 605 N. First Ave., 806 W. Linn St., 1603 S. Fifth St., 3302 S. Center St., 1007 S. 12th Ave., 416 Union St. and 501 1/2 N. Center St.

• The Marshalltown Fire Department responded to two dispatched/canceled en routes to Marshalltown Boulevard and Marsh Avenue and 501 N. Center St. and six medical assists with the EMS crew to: 2 N. Second Ave., 1402 E. Main St., 501 1/2 N. Center St., 504 Iowa Ave. West, 622 W. Boone St. and 402 Union St.

Sept. 30

• The Marshalltown Fire Department responded to an unauthorized burning at 111 N. 15th St., two dispatched/canceled en routes to 2108 S. Fifth St. and 2306 S. Third Ave. and six medical assists with the EMS crew to: 207 N. 16th St., 302 NewCastle Road, 1013 E. Anson St., 808 W. Nevada St., 1211 W. State St. and South Center Street and Linn Street.

Sept. 29

• The Marshalltown Fire Department responded to an unauthorized burning at 1904 Summit St., a dispatched/canceled en route to 1301 Summit St. and four medical assists with the EMS crew to: 715 Washington St., 302 Nicholas Drive, 1402 E. Main St. and 302 Sharon Ave.

• The Marshalltown Fire Department responded to a building fire at 5 E. Anson St., three dispatched/canceled en routes to: 915 W. Merle Hibbs Blvd., 410 E. State St. and 1000 E. Olive St. and five medical assists with the EMS crew to: 210 1/2 N. Sixth St., 108 Washington St., 410 E. State St., 2012 S. Sixth St. and 1211 W. State St.
