Court — Monday

• Matthew Eugene Vance made an initial appearance on a warrant charging him with willful injury causing bodily injury. The preliminary hearing is scheduled for 1 p.m. on Nov. 26. Bond is set at $5,000 cash or surety. A no-contact order has been issued for the protected party.

• Shyanne Frazier made an initial appearance on a failure to maintain control charge, two charges of driving under suspension and a no insurance-accident charge. Frazier pleaded guilty to all charges. On the two driving under suspension charges the fines are $250 on each with a $37.50 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $347.50 for each charge. The fine on the failure to maintain control charge is $135 with a $20.25 surcharge and $55 in court costs for a total of $210.25. On the no insurance charge the fine is $645 with a $96.75 surcharge and $55 in court costs for a total of $796.75. All payments are due within 30 days.

• Maria Clem Valerio De Sanchez made an initial appearance on a passing a school bus charge and a no valid driver’s license charge. Valerio De Sanchez pleaded guilty to both counts. On the passing a school bus charge the fine is $500 with a $37.50 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $597.50. The fine on the no driver’s license charge is $520 with a $39 surcharge and $55 in court costs for a total of $614. All payments are due within 30 days.

• Melissa Kay Hayward made an initial appearance on a driving under suspension charge. Hayward pleaded guilty and the fine is $250 with a $37.50 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $347.50, due within 30 days.

• Jacob Lee Rowley made an initial appearance on a driving under suspension charge. Rowley pleaded guilty and the fine is $250 with a $37.50 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $347.50, due within 30 days.

• Travis John Axley made an initial appearance on a driving under suspension charge and a speeding charge. Axley pleaded guilty to both charges. On the driving under suspension charge the fine is $250 with a $37.50 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $347.50. The fine on the speeding charge is $105 with a surcharge of $15.75 and $55 in court costs for a total of $175.75. All payments are due within 30 days.

• Anna Beatriz Monge Marquez made an initial appearance on a driving under suspension charge. Monge Marquez pleaded guilty and the fine is $250 with a $37.50 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $347.50, due within 30 days.

Incidents

• On Sunday, a hit and run accident was reported in the 600 block of East Main Street.

• On Friday, a theft was reported to the Marshalltown Police Station.

• On Friday, a theft was reported in the 200 block of East Webster Street.

• On Friday, a case of credit card fraud valued between $1,000 – $10,000 was reported to the Marshalltown Police Station.

• On Friday, a case of vandalism to property was reported in the 100 block of West Main Street.

• On Sunday, Say Htoo, 35, was arrested for striking an unattended vehicle and leaving the scene of an accident.

• On Sunday, Dean Oziah Jr., 50, was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia and trespass-first offense.

• On Saturday, Michael Gerrish, 53, was arrested for driving while license is denied, canceled, revoked or suspended.

• On Saturday, Kirk Thomas, 57, was arrested for using an electronic communication device and driving while license is denied or revoked.

• On Friday, Jordan Parker, 26, was arrested for driving while license is denied, canceled, revoked or suspended.

• On Friday, Lucas Catherwood, 24, was arrested on a warrant.

Grundy County Sheriff

Accidents

• On Sunday, a semi driven by Peter Wiechmann, 19, of Hubbard, pulling a livestock trailer hauling sheep was northbound on T-19 north of 120th Street when a strong westerly wind caused it to veer to the right, drop off the narrow shoulder and roll into the ditch. No injuries were reported. The 150 head of sheep had to be destroyed. Damage to the Wiechmann semi was estimated at $30,000. The accident remains under investigation.
