Court — Friday

• Blaine Douglas Hall made an initial appearance on 11 of a contempt of court/violation of a no-contact order charge. Christian Stickrod will continue as counsel. The contempt hearing is scheduled for 11:15 a.m. on Dec. 28. Hall is being held without bond. A new no-contact order has been issued for the protected party.

• Rickey Dustin Hawkins Jr. made an initial appearance on a driving while barred charge and an operation without registration charge. hawkins will hire his own counsel. The preliminary hearing is scheduled for 1 p.m. on Jan. 4, 2021.

• Marisa Mae Easton made an initial appearance on a theft-third degree charge. The public defender’s office is appointed as counsel. The preliminary hearing is scheduled for 1 p.m. on Jan. 4, 2021.

• Mang Min Sang made an initial appearance on a driving under suspension charge, a speeding charge and a violation of a restricted license charge. Sang pleaded guilty to all charges. On the driving under suspension charge the fine is $250 with a $37.50 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $347.50. The fine on the speeding charge is $120 with a $18 surcharge and $55 in court costs for a total of $193. The fine on the restricted license charge is $70 with a $10.50 surcharge and $55 in court costs for a total of $135.50. All payments are due within 30 days.

• Sage Alberto Aragon made an initial appearance on a possession of a controlled substance-third or subsequent offense charge and a possession of drug paraphernalia charge. The public defender’s office is appointed as counsel. The preliminary hearing is scheduled for 1 p.m. on Dec. 30. A substance abuse evaluation is ordered with the results submitted to the court within 60 days.

• Jacob Allen Chamberlin made an initial appearance on a driving under suspension charge. Chamberlin pleaded guilty and the fine is $250 with a $37.50 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $347.50, due within 30 days.

Incidents

• On Thursday, a theft was reported in the 1600 block of Elder Drive.

• On Thursday, a case of vandalism to property while committing a theft from a motor vehicle was reported in the 200 block of North Second Avenue.

• On Thursday, a theft was reported in the 100 block of North Third Street.

Arrests

• On Friday, Andrew Grandstaff, 21, was arrested for eluding – injury, operating while under the influence, drugs or participating in a felony and operating while under the influence-first offense.

• On Thursday, Blaine Hall, 21, was arrested for contempt of court/violation of a no-contact order.

• On Thursday, Mufalme Museveni, 33, was arrested on a warrant charging him with driving while barred.

• The Marshalltown Fire Department responded to a dispatched/canceled en route to South 18th Avenue and Iowa Avenue East and two medical assists with the EMS crew to 1112 S. First St. and 404 S. Second St.

• The Marshalltown Fire Department responded to two dispatched/canceled en routes to West Main Street and South Ninth Street and 112 N. First St. and four medical assists with the EMS crew to: 25 W. Main St., 408 N. 17th St., 109 S. Second St. and 304 Edgeland Drive.

Sixth St. and three medical assists with the EMS crew to: 616 Union St., 507 Highland Drive and 533 N. Third St.

• The Marshalltown Fire Department responded to a system malfunction at 202 N. Second Ave., an alarm system activation-no fire-unintentional at 201 E. Main St., an unauthorized burning at 719 N. Fourth Ave., a dispatched/canceled en route to 408 N. 17th St. and four medical assists with the EMS crew to: 603 W. Main St., 408 W. High St., 301 W. South St. and 100 College Drive.
