• On Friday, Oct. 1, Humberto Ibarra, 33, was arrested for operating while under the influence-first offense.
• On Thursday, Sept. 30, Jose Avalos-Lopez, 54, was arrested on a warrant.
• On Thursday, Sept. 30, Steven Earney, 29, was arrested for operating while under the influence-first offense and reckless driving.
• On Thursday, Sept. 30, Rudy Singh, 33, was arrested for violation of a no contact/protective order.

Accidents
• On Tuesday, Sept. 28, a vehicle driven by Todd Alan Tinnermeier, of Newton, was westbound on Highway 30 when it struck a coyote which was standing in the roadway. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Tinnermeier vehicle was estimated at $2,500.
• On Saturday, Sept. 25, a car driven by Brian Jay Shepherd, of Newton, was traveling east on 180th Street when it swerved to the left to miss hitting a deer that entered the roadway, but struck the deer anyway. This resulted in the Shepherd car entering the north ditch, traveling down the ditch until it was stopped by a field fence. When the driver attempted to back up the car flipped onto its top. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Shepherd car was estimated at $15,000 while the field fence received $500 in damage.
