Accidents

• On Wednesday, Oct. 12, a car driven by Braydon Richard Rohrer, 20, of Garwin, was southbound on Wallace Avenue when it struck a deer that entered the roadway. There were no injuries. Damage to the Rohrer car was estimated at $1,500.

• On Monday, Oct. 10, an SUV driven by Tammy Jo Harris, 51, of Marshalltown, was westbound on Summit Road when it struck a deer that entered the roadway causing front driver’s side damage. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Harris SUV was estimated at $3,000.

• On Sunday, Oct. 9, a pickup driven by Juana Oliveros–Alcantar, 43, of Marshalltown, was northbound on South 18th Avenue when it struck a deer in the roadway. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Oliveros–Alcantar pickup was estimated at $2,500.

• On Friday, Oct. 7, an SUV driven by Samantha Ann Marie Kline, 40, of State Center, was southbound on Reed Avenue when it struck a deer that entered the roadway. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Kline SUV was estimated at $4,000.

• On Friday, Oct. 7, an SUV driven by Karen Sue Bassett, 59, of Gladbrook, was southbound on Vance Avenue when it struck a deer that entered the roadway. There were no injuries reported. Damage to the Bassett SUV was estimated at $5,000.

• On Wednesday, Oct. 5, a semi driven by Thomas Elmer Hansen, 20, of Ames, was southbound on Sanford Avenue when it swerved to miss striking a deer in the roadway, entered the west ditch where it struck a four–way intersection sign and when it attempted to exit the ditch, the semi rolled.

• On Monday, Oct. 3, an SUV driven by Mariann Darter, 64, of Gilman, was southbound on Zeller Avenue and as it slowed to turn west onto 290th Street, a deer exited the ditch and collided with the driver’s side front corner. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Darter SUV was estimated at $3,500.

• On Wednesday, Sept. 28, a car driven by Hannah Elizabeth Snodgrass, 33, of Grinnell, was eastbound on 290th Street when it struck a deer that entered the roadway. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Snodgrass car was estimated at $1,500.

• On Wednesday, Sept. 21, a car driven by Josefina Hill, 37, of Marshalltown, was southbound on Marsh Avenue when it struck a raccoon that exited the ditch resulting in damage to the front bumper and radiator. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Hill car was estimated at $5,000.
