McFarland Clinic welcomes new nurse practitioner

McFarland Clinic announced that Carol Barlow, ARNP joined the Marshalltown office in March. Barlow sees patients in Family Medicine at the 312 E. Main St. office.

Barlow received her masters of nursing family nurse practitioner from Allen College and a bachelor of science in nursing from the University of Iowa College of Nursing. She received her associate degree of nursing from Marshalltown Community College.

As a family medicine provider, Barlow offers services for the entire family including preventative medicine and immunizations for infants, children and adults, women’s health, treatment of acute and chronic illnesses and minor office procedures. She is welcoming new patients.

New branch manager announced to United Bank & Trust downtown

United Bank & Trust announces the promotion of Amy Haney to branch manager of the downtown location at 29 S. Center St.

Haney received her Associates of Arts degree in General Studies from Iowa Central Community College in 2014. She worked retail for several years and in 2017 began her banking career at United Bank & Trust as a teller. In her new role as branch manager, Haney will oversee all aspects of the branch, including branch staffing, customer service, opening and servicing deposit accounts and overseeing teller functions.

“We look forward to Amy serving in the role as branch manager and assisting with the branch initiatives,” Jennifer Hass, senior vice president, said. “Her commitment to customer service and relationship building aligns with our culture of making customers feel welcomed and valued when they visit us.”

“I love working at United Bank & Trust. Everyone is always so friendly and helpful to each customer that comes to the bank. I am excited to be starting my new position as branch manager and look forward to meeting and helping the customers at the branch,” Haney said.

Haney is involved in the Marshalltown Community Theater and is active in many bank functions and community events.

Haney and her family reside in Marshalltown.

United Bank & Trust announces promotion

United Bank & Trust announces the promotion of Chris Arment to loan processing supervisor.

Arment was a real estate agent for 13 years prior to her employment with United Bank & Trust in 2016. She started as a mortgage loan processor, a natural fit due to her background in real estate and the understanding of the home buying process. In her new role, Arment will oversee all loan operations and processing.

“Chris’s background and knowledge make her the perfect individual to lead the team. Her unwavering commitment to customer service and detail helps ensure we are exceeding our customers’ expectations,” Robert Thomas, senior loan officer, said.

“I am very excited to be part of such an awesome team at United Bank & Trust. The staff here is comprised of people with such a wealth of knowledge and a real desire to provide our customers the best service possible, which has made the transition to my new position so enjoyable,” Arment said.

Arment and her family reside in Marshalltown.

Thrivent Mutual Funds wins seven Lipper Awards in 2019

MINNEAPOLIS — Thrivent Mutual Funds has been honored with seven 2019 Lipper Awards from Refinitiv for its Small Cap Stock Fund, Mid Cap Stock Fund and Aggressive Allocation Stock Fund and earned a group award for the performance of its mixed assets class. The annual awards, which were presented at a gala in New York City recently, recognize the performance of funds and fund management firms over three, five and 10-year periods. Since 2008, Thrivent Mutual Funds has received a total of 25 Lipper Awards.

The awards this year were based on risk-adjusted performance for the U.S. Region for periods ending Nov. 30, 2018:

• The Thrivent Mid Cap Stock Fund, Class S (TMSIX), was awarded Best Mid-Cap Core Fund for the past three-year, five-year and 10-year performance periods (out of 333, 283 and 189 funds, respectively).

• The Thrivent Small Cap Stock Fund, Class S (TSCSX), was awarded Best Small-Cap Core Fund for the past three and five-year periods (out of 785 and 654 funds, respectively).

• The Thrivent Aggressive Allocation Fund, Class S (TAAIX), was awarded Best Mixed-Asset Target Allocation Aggressive Growth Fund for the past five-year period (out of 135 funds).

• Thrivent’s Mixed Assets Class received a group award for the Small Company category out of 48 fund families for the three-year period.
