Police are asking the public for help identifying a man who stole from a local store.

The Marshalltown Police Department is asking the public for assistance to help identify a white male with short brown or dark colored hair, who wore a light colored shirt with dark trim and an Iowa State baseball hat during the time of the incident.

The man stole a laser level, valued at $850 from Menards, 504 Iowa Ave. W., on May 29.

Anyone with information on the man’s identity can call the Marshalltown Police Department at 754-5725 with information.

The man is charged with third-degree theft, an aggravated misdemeanor.
