MPD searching for missing woman

The Marshalltown Police Department is asking for the public’s help in locating a missing Marshalltown woman.

Karen Kay Staker, 74, was at the Central Iowa Healthcare emergency room when she apparently walked out about around 1:15 p.m. Saturday.

According to a police press release, she was last seen wearing hospital paper scrubs and was walking south of the hospital toward Linn Street and 3rd Avenue.

But MPD Sgt. Todd Tuttle told the T-R later that law enforcement received a report the Staker was at a residence in Albion.

“We’re still looking for her over there,” Tuttle said in an interview with the Times-Republican at about 3:40 p.m.

Tuttle said although Staker left the hospital on foot, it’s clear that she may have been given a ride if indeed she was in the Albion vicinity.

Staker is described as a white female, standing 4-feet-10-inches tall, having gray hair and green eyes.

Those with any information should contact the MPD at 641-754-5725.
